Without You

The plan

After about 7 minutes of sitting in silence Hiccup spoke up.

"If you want to find out who your birth father is we can go to berk to talk to my father about it and show him the horn." Hiccup started

"But we dont have to say its yours we can say that it washed up on the beach of the edge and it has the his cheif seal on it and that I wanted to know who it belongs to if you aren't ready for him to know about us." Hiccup quickly said after to make Heather a bit calmer.

Heather let out a small giggle "Ya your father can be a bit pushy when it comes to these things I have seen how he has always tried getting you and Astrid together and I want to take it a bit slow with out him putting pressure on us." Heather stated with a smile

"you understand right?" Heather questioned.

"Of course." Hiccup said with a chuckle "My father just gets a bit over excited I would say he always saw Astrid as my girlfriend instead of just a good friend always shouting that's my future daughter in law" Hiccup said imitating his father causing both himself and and Heather to laugh

"I dont blame you for wanting to take things slow without his input, he can put alot of pressure on people without realizing it and personally this isn't something I want his input in." Hiccup stated to Heather with a smile

"I'm glad you understand Hiccup, I agree that you father is a bit excitable when it comes to this stuff and thank you for respecting my wishes that's one of the things I love about you Hiccup." Heather said giving him a kiss on the cheek.

"You always listen to what people say and your there to just listen if someone needs it." Heather said leaning her head on His shoulder while Hiccup put an arm around her.

They sat there like that for another 30 minutes just staring at the cove until Heather's stomach rumbled.

"Ah someone's hungry for some more of my cooking?" Hiccup said teasingly to Heather.

"Of course I always used to think that I'm the best cook on the edge but its definitely you." Heather said with a smile as she stood up and stretched.

Hiccup got up after her also stretching
"Well let's head back to the club house and I'll start cooking I can teach you a bit if you would like." Hiccup asked her.

"That would be excellent." Heather said with a smile making Hiccup smile back

They called the dragons as they walked out of the cove and back into the forest and flew back to the club house where Hiccup started to prepair some ribs with Heather and started teaching her how to add flavor to it

"So ribs are usually taste good on their own but there is a trick I learned that you can use to enhance the flavor of any meat." Hiccup started grabbing a few spices out of the cabinets.

Hiccup then filled a metal pot with a bit of water and boiled it and put the ribs in it.

"Doesn't that ruin the meat and make it all soggy?" Heather questioned

"Yes but that's the point it let's the meat absorb the water and what ever is in it so this way we can add any spices we want to add extra flavor, do you want to pick out some spices to put in?" Hiccup asked her

"Sure." Heather responded a she took a look at the spices Hiccup had taken out

"How are these?" Heather asked handing Hiccup pepper cayenne bay leaf and Chili flakes

"Ah these are excellent choices and they will work well with the other part of our supper, would you mind cooking some rice while I do the ribs?" Hiccup asked Heather.

"Of course" Heather responded getting out some rice and started cooking it as Hiccup began putting in the spices that she had chosen.

The rice was done rather quickly and was covered to keep it warm while the ribs were still boiling after and hour Hiccup took the ribs out of the pot and put them to rest for about 15 minutes.

After the 15 minutes Hiccup lit the fire pit and started cooking them over it while he let the water continue to boil.

The ribs were done cooking in about 30 minutes and then he took them off and put some on Heather plate and some on his

"Now let's finish the rice." Hiccup said to Heather who was a bit confused at this.

"What do you mean the rice is finished it's in a pot to keep it warm." She responded rather confused.

"Ah that's where your wrong milady we still need to use the spices we used in the pot for the ribs follow me." Hiccup responded.

Hiccup went over to the still boiling pot of the water used for the ribs with Heather behind him and took it off the fire and gently poured it a bit of it over the rice.

"I have never been the biggest fan of plane rice so I decided to make it a bit better since it always tasted bland to me, if we use the water we used for the ribs and the spices that are still in it this adds alot of flavor to the rice." Hiccup stated and brought the rice over to the table and put some on each others plates.

"Dig in." Hiccup said to Heather smiling as she took a bite and her eyes widened.

"Oh my goodness Hiccup this is amazing, it's the best thing I have ever eaten." Heather exclaimed as Hiccup grinned.

They ate the rest of their meal and decided to go to bed as it was getting late they both headed to Heather's hut Hiccup taking off his shirt and climbing in bed with Heather blushing slightly as she took off her armor and skirt and got in bed next to him making Hiccup blush to.

"So tomorrow morning we cant start making our way to berk to ask Stoick about your horn if you want the sooner we get there the sooner you get to know who your birth family is." Hiccup said putting an arm around her as she leaned her head on his shoulder.

"Ya that sounds like a good idea I'm really excited to know who my birth family is..." Heather said as she trailed off "I just have 1 question Hiccup." Heather said worried.

"Anything milady." He said turning to her with a smile.

Heather took a deep breath "are your thoughts on me going change depending on who my birth family is?" Heather asked looking at him with eyes that looked like they were about to cry.

Hiccup pulled her close and gave her a kiss "Why would I ever judge someone just because of who their family is your still the Beautiful girl I fell in love with and that wont change not matter what your last name is it doesn't matter to me what it is it wont change how much I love you cant judge a person by their name you look at that person's actions your kind, caring, compassionate and above all else a good person a name cant change who you are or who your going to be I should know." Hiccup said to her with the most geniune smile she has ever seen as tears began to flow from her eyes as she hugged him and he hugged back.

"Thank you for being you Hiccup." She said wiping the tears from her eyes still holding the hug as he did the same as the fell asleep in each others embrace.

Nice another 1k+ word chapter if anyone is curious the recipe is actually a way I cook ribs and stuff while camping if anyone wants the actual recipe I can post it in a seperate chapter it's highly customizable with the spices.

I hope you all enjoyed the chapter you can kind of see the next few chapters now but I am hoping to put a good twist on it I have a few ideas going around in my head of how it goes once they arrive at berk I hope you all enjoyed the learning to cook
