Without You

Heather's Story

Heather and Hiccup sat there In silence for about 5 minutes.

Heather mostly taking in what Hiccup had told her he has had such a hard life yet he remained the same person through out it the same goofy smart cute Hiccup she loves.

"I guess its only fair since you told me your life story I tell you mine I'm just worried you wont think the same of me." Heather said looking at Hiccup

"You dont have to tell me." Hiccup started "I love you as you are now and what ever happened in the past is the past I like you for who you are right now and who you always will be." Hiccup said back to Heather smiling

"Arent you curious?" Asked Heather as she giggled.

"Maybe but I wouldn't ask you to talk about anything you arent comfortable with." Hiccup said giving her a kiss on the forehead and holding her close.

"Its ok Hiccup I want to share my story with someone I trust and I would like it to be you." Heather said looking at him with her head on his shoulder.

"As long as it's what you want milady." Hiccup responded with a chuckle.

Heather took a breath readying herself "The earliest thing I remember is my father's hands they were so gentle with me. I also always played with his sheild rolling it around even though I dont think I was surpost to." Heather let out a soft giggle.

"That's all I remember of my birth father then my memory goes to my adopted parents who's village I lived in with my parents then one day when we were out at sea on a trip back from a nearby island Alvin caught us. He told me that in exchange for my parents I would get him the book of dragons and learn as much about training them as possible and sent me off to berk in a wrecked ship which you found me in." Heather stiffened at the memory.

Hiccup put his arm around her pulling Heather close and started stocking her raven black hair which calmed Heather down as she continued.

"We both know how the end resulted as you helped me rescue my parents and we sailed back home to my village where we lived for another 3 years in peace which during those 3 years I met Windshear.
she was wounded in the woods covered in scratches caught in an old dragon razor net trap.
I couldn't bare to see another living thing like that so I cut her out of the net and went back to the village and snuck out a basket of fish to feed her she was very wary of me at first.

But as I helped her heal and regain her strength she warmed up to me became my friend for those next 3 years." Heather smiled at the memory.

"The second year after I befriended her I introduced Windshear to my adoptive parents who were wary at first but soon warmed up to her as they saw that Windshear would protect me from any harm that would come my way when they wouldn't be able to protect me."

"They accepted Windshear as part of our family and basicly my older sister. Then the 3rd year everything was great my family was ok with Windshear they accepted me for having a dragon as part of my life but all that went down hill." Heather's face darkened at what she was recalling the smile gone.

"That's when dagur arrived at my village and destroyed it and killed most of the village he was looking for something or someone my parents ran with me out of the village to Windshear as we were being chased by the bezerker soldiers when we arrived at where Windshear stayed my father gave me a emergency bundle of food and clothes and medical stuff with books about plants that had healing properties and some needle and thread to make stitches or for clothing and put me on Windshear and told Windshear listen here dragon we may have not always seen eye to eye but I trust you with our daughter you can keep her safe and look after her, take her away from here and keep her safe." Heather said with tears in her eyes

"Windshear seemed to understand and flew off with me on her back and as I looked down I could see the army arrive and kill my parents who raised me." Heather said in tears.

Hiccup pulled Heather into his lap and let her cry into his shoulder hugging her while stroking her head

"That day is why I swore I would get revenge on dagur for what he did to my village and then when I was returning stuff to my village that was stolen by dagur and his men that's when you found me and took me in and gave me a new home and more importantly a new family." Heather said looking at Hiccup with tears in her eyes. "And not just a new family a new love." Heather said giving Hiccup a kiss and a bone crushing hug not wanting to let go for fear that he would vanish right before her eyes.

Hiccup just returned the hug and let her hold on to him as long as she needed as that's what he wants to be for her someone to be able to talk to anything about and always be able find comfort in.

"Dont worry Heather we will get back at dagur for what he did we will lock him up somewhere he can never escape." Hiccup reassured Heather who smiled wiping the tears from her eyes.

"The only thing I have left of my Birth parents is this horn." She said taking it off her belt holding it in her hands.

"Can I take a look I promise I'll be gentle with it." Hiccup asked.

Heather handed it to Hiccup as he examined it "That's odd." Hiccup stated

"What is?." Heather asked with a bit of hope in her voice as she was thinking Hiccup found a clue to who her birth family was.

"My father's chief seal is on this." Hiccup said showing Heather.

"What does that mean." Heather asked Hiccup curious.

"All I can say for certain is that you are the daughter of a cheif." Hiccup began
"When a cheif has a child that date is marked as a special occasion and that child is given gifts from all the other chiefs of the archipelago." Hiccup finished.

"Do you know which cheif it's for." Heather asked with hope in her eyes.

"Unfortunately no I do not but my dad should know there is just one other detail about this horn that could be a bit awkward." Hiccup said with a slight blush.

"What is that then." Heather asked barley able to keep her excitement contained about finding out who her birth family was.

"The artifact the child of the cheif receives with another chiefs seal on it indicates that that child is to be married to the child of whom the cheif seal belongs." Hiccup said blushing making Heather blush also.

Ha ha ha cliff hanger I know I'm evil but I want to add some suspense even though if anyone of you have watched the show you can probably see where this is going but I am going to do my best to give my own version of it hope you all enjoyed I would really like if you voted on my book and leave a comment with feedback
