"A bodyguard?"

I raised my brows at Joy through the mirror, and she nodded before chucking her drink down. Joy just asked me about the new bodyguard she had met with, but I didn't know him yet. When did father hire another bodyguard? He never told me about it. Not even Soobin.

"Are you sure?"

"Yup," she said before raising the bottle to her lips. "The only time I feel lucky to be born in the mafia is when I can do underage drinking," she grinned widely.

I gave her a disappointing look. "Joy, this is Tzuyu's engagement party. You need to stop this, you're ruining yourself. You and Yeri need to-"

"We're not even real siblings. Cut me the lecture," she rolled her eyes and then walked away. I stood where I was and bit my lip as I blinked. It wasn't something new to hear from Joy, especially when she was drunk. She would always say things she didn't mean but it still hurts like bitch.

Sighing, I caressed my red dress for I needed to look good in front of everyone and then walked out of the room and met with Yeri strolling around the corridor. "Kid. Why aren't you ready yet?" I asked, referring to her plane t-shirt and pajamas.

"I'm not going to attend my friend's ruining party," she let out bluntly and then walked in her room, slamming the door behind her. I leaned against the door and closed my eyes, defeated. It didn't matter how much I was trying to bind us together, something else has to go wrong. Joy, Yeri, Soobin and I are siblings but not the real ones. I, Yeri, and Soobin belonged to three of my father's many mistresses. Joy had never shown it but it didn't mean she was not bothered by the very fact.

I went downstairs to attend the party because as an elder child, I have to act responsible, though I was far from the word. The servants were roaming around, doing last minute preparations. Mrs Park was there for she was the head of the family, her bright yellow dress looked beautiful and elegant as her, and I gave her a nod which she didn't reciprocate as expected.

Members of Sal-inja were going to arrive in a few minutes, and I decided to use the time to talk to Soobin, who was standing near the entrance. He hadn't approached me since last night, maybe he was worried how I was to react to him. "Brother."
