"You do know that my sister fancy you. Don't you?"
I stood beside Hoseok, who chuckled softly but then composed himself at once when my father gave him a look across the hall. He straightened up, and I rolled my eyes. "I hate that old man, I mumbled.
"Relatable," Hoseok glanced at me, and smiled. We turned to look at Ryujin, who was doing her infamous birthday dance with Taehyung, and cringed. It was awful. They were making a fool of themselves.
Like literally.
"If I become Capo, then the first thing I'm going to do is get you to marry her," I joked. "You won't be able to defy me then."
He shook his head. "You know that I'm just a bodyguard. I can't possibly marry a Sal-inja princess. People won't accept it," he said.
"I'm ruthless. No one will defy me if they know what is best for them," I winked, but tensed when I saw Comere coming my way. She gave Hoseok a look, and the man walked away quietly. "Comere," I bowed my head politely.
"I talked to your father. He's a fool to give you the throne," she huffed. "Do you really want to snatch your brother's position?"
"Father named me his successor. I didn't ask him to," I replied, my grip tightening around the glass in my hand unconsciously. "I hate to break it to you, but Taehyung doesn't want to be Capo."
"The day you will become Capo Sal-inja, I know you're going to kill your brother first," she laughed as if we were enjoying the conversation. "I know how a person like you works."
"Taehyung is my brother. I can never hurt him," I gritted out, and she rolled her eyes. "Comere, I'm serious. Don't accuse me of something like that. I love my siblings."
"I have my eyes on you," she smiled through her teeth, and walked away with the cold shoulder.
I gulped down my drink in one go, and scrunched my nose when it burned down my throat. I was actually tired of these kinds of accusations. People are hating on me without knowing anything. As much as I hated father, he was the only one believing in me. I missed my mother, who used to be there to defend me and console me. It was such a big lonely world now. Soyeon couldn't visit because of security reasons, and mother was up in the clouds, somewhere peaceful and away from all this hatred and bloodbath.
