Under The Sea

Chapter 4

The following evening Bradley and I were having a private dinner in town. 

"Madeline what do you say you invite me into your bed after everyone is in bed." 

"Not going to happen." 

As Bradley and I were eating our meal he was flirting with every waitress and female server that walked pass our table. After I paid the bill and left the restaurant Bradley grabbed me by the arm and pulled me inside a tavern, he led me over to the bar and sat down. 

"What are we doing here?" I asked confused. 

"Having a drink and maybe getting lucky." Bradley smiled. 

I knew my challenge wasn't going to last long I wanted to leave but I forced myself to stay to see if Bradley got to three strikes. 

"What can I get for you dear?" the blonde-haired barmaid asked. 

"I'm fine thank you." I replied. 

"I'll have a brandy." 

The barmaid poured Bradley a glass of brandy and sat it in front of him, he drank his brandy and flirted with another barmaid working behind the bar. I watched Bradley leave the tavern with the red-haired barmaid that he was flirting with. 

"Miss is he your boyfriend?" the blonde-haired barmaid asked. 

"He's my betrothed." I sighed. 

"I wouldn't marry him I see him at the tavern way too much there isn't a barmaid he hasn't been with." 

"I better go find him." 

"You'll find him and Luce in the alley beside the tavern your betrothed will be between her legs." She stated. 

"Thank you," 

"The names Caroline." 

"I'm Madeline." I smiled introducing myself.

Caroline has a motherly vibe to her and treats her customers with respect. 

"Well Madeline, I don't think you should waste your time with Brad." 

"I'm going to end it with him when we get home." 

I exited the tavern and spotted Bradley and Luce having sex against the wall I cleared my throat in annoyance he stared at me with regret showing in his eyes. 

"It's over!!" I bellowed, walking away. 

"Madeline wait give me another chance!!" Bradley shouted, running after me. 

I kept walking Bradley caught up to me he walked long side me. 

"Give me another chance." 

"No!!" 

When we arrived back at the castle Bradley and I entered the castle and walked into the living room my mother was sitting in the arm chair knitting and my father was sitting in his leather club chair reading. 

"Madeline why do you smell like alcohol and why does Bradley reek of sex?" my mother asked. 

"Bradley dragged me inside a tavern and when I left the tavern, I caught him in the alley beside the tavern having sex with a red-haired barmaid named Luce." I said. 

"Madeline give me another chance." 

"Bradley, I'm not giving you another chance it's over." 

I left the living room and walked upstairs to the third floor I walked down the hall to my room. 

"How'd it go?" Jamie asked, leaning against the wall. 

"He blew it in one night." I said. 

"Why do you smell like alcohol?" 

"Brad dragged me into a tavern at least I don't smell like sex." 

"Who did he have sex with?" He asked. 

"A barmaid named Luce." I replied. 

I hugged my brother good night he returned the hug I walked into my room I closed the door behind me. I walked into the bathroom when I came out of the bathroom, I sat down on my bed I saw my bedroom door open my mother came into the room. 

"Can we talk?" 

"Sure," 

My mother closed the door she walked over to me and sat beside me on the bed. 

"I talked to Bradley's mother she wasn't surprised that her son did that his mother is taking him back to their kingdom along with his father. Bradley said you turned him down when he asked you to invite him into your bed." my mother said. 

"I did turn him down when he wanted me to invite him into my bed because he was hoping that I would have sex with him." I stated. 

"You did the right thing," 

I hugged my mother she returned the hug and left my room after everyone was asleep, I snuck down to the beach I walked down the sand I spotted Ricky waiting for me. 

"Hey Ricky." I smiled, sitting on the sand. 

"Hey Maddie." Ricky said. 

"The challenge is over Bradley blew it all tonight." 

"I'm not surprised by that." 

"Rick- Ricky there's something that I want to tell you." I stammered. 

"There's something that I want to tell you too." He replied. 

"You first," 

"Ladies first." 

I took a calming breath to calm my nerves. 

"I like you more than just as my best friend." I confessed. 

"That's what I wanted to tell you." Ricky smiled. 

We heard footsteps approaching Ricky went back into the ocean and hid I looked behind me and saw Jamie walking towards me. 

"Thought you might want this." 

Jamie handed me a beach towel he walked back to the castle. 

"Ricky it was only Jamie your safe." I said, climbing to my feet I removed my nightgown revealing my bathing suite underneath. 

Ricky popped back up in the ocean I stepped into the water with him. 

"How can we be together if we come from different worlds?" 

"There is a way for me to join your world I have to ask my parents about it." 

"Are you willing to leave your underwater world for me?" I asked curiously. 

"Yes," Ricky stated. 

Ricky and I played in the ocean together it felt like old times because Ricky and I would play in the ocean when we were little. 

"I'm willing to risk my life for you." I vowed, holding his hand. 

"It's getting late you should head back." He replied. 

I walked out of the ocean I grabbed my towel and dried off I grabbed my nightgown I waved good-bye to Ricky. He waved back I walked up the beach and walked the path back to the castle I snuck back inside the castle and quietly made my way back to my bedroom. I walked into the bathroom when I came out of the bathroom I crawled into bed and fell asleep.
