Under The Sea

Chapter 11

The following morning, I was helping out in the kitchen preparing for breakfast. 

"Samantha were you able to talk to my father?" 

"I talked to your father and he told me that he won't put you or Ricky on the staff's payroll." 

"I'm not surprised by that at all." I sighed. 

"However, your mother has placed you and Ricky on the staff's payroll your mother said that you will be given back pay." Samantha stated, stirring the pancake batter. 

"I enjoy working in the kitchen." I said. 

I helped Amanda cut up fruit for the fruit salad while James and Jimmy were making the bread. 

"Maddie where's Ricky?" James asked. 

"He's still asleep." I answered. 

"What your boyfriend afraid of hard work." 

"Jimmy that's enough leave Ricky alone he has done nothing to you!!" 

"Wow Maddie, you refused to marry a prince but now you're in love with a lazy fish boy from the sea." Jimmy sneered. 

I glared at Jimmy and flipped him the bird I removed my apron and left the kitchen I walked upstairs and made my way to my room I walked into the room softly closing the door behind me. I glanced over at my bed and saw my sleeping boyfriend sleeping peaceful I removed my shoes and crawled into bed with him. 

"I love you." 

"I love you too." 

Ricky was starting to stir he draped his arm across me and pulled me closer I felt my anger disappear. 

"How would you like to spend the day together?" I asked. 

"We can spend the day together working in the kitchen." Ricky said, stroking my cheek with the back of his fingers causing me to blush.

"I just want to be alone with you." 

"Are you okay?" 

I shook my head no I decided to just tell him the truth instead of making up excuses. 

"James asked me where you were and I told him then his son Jimmy had to jump into the conversation and said What Ricky's afraid of hard work wow Maddie, you refused to marry a prince but now you're in love with a lazy fish boy from the sea." I explained. 

"I'm not afraid of hard work I'm just not used to doing things on land." Ricky said. 

"I flipped Jimmy the bird on the way out of the kitchen." 

Ricky kissed me I laid my head on his chest.

"Don't let Jimmy get under your skin." He said softly. 

"I'm not apologizing to that prick he can go to hell for all I care." I stated matter of factly. 

"Just lay here and relax with me." 

I laid in bed with Ricky and listened to his heart beat he kissed my forehead. 

"Maddie, do you love me?" Ricky asked. 

"Of course, I love you." I said, lifting my head from his chest and gazing into his chocolate brown eyes. 

I kissed him he playfully nipped my bottom lip we climbed out of bed I made the bed while Ricky got dressed. After he was finished getting dressed, I put my shoes back on Ricky and I left our room and walked downstairs. I returned to the kitchen with Ricky we jumped into our work.
