Ava Smith is a 24-year-old trauma surgeon, who has just done a 7-hour surgery. What is she currently doing? She's past out in the on-call room, completely worn out from working so many hours this week. It was around one in the morning when Ava was woken from her peaceful slumber by her friend Mia. "Did I oversleep?" She asks while franticly getting up, putting her hair into a bun. "No, but I need your help. Their is an emergency on the way, and there isn't enough doctors on-call tonight." Mia explains feeling bad for waking up her best friend. She knew Ava had only been sleeping for a few hours, but they really needed the help; no matter how she felt about the situation.

Ava rubbed her eyes tiredly while trying to wake herself up. "Alright, I'll be ready in a minute." She mumbled still exhausted. Mia smiled before muttering a quick, 'thank you. Ava quickly grabbed her stuff that she had previously put on the floor under the bed, standing up, following Mia out into the chaotic halls.

When they got there everybody was rushing around yelling to both doctors, and nurses. There were four people on stretcher's being brought in all in terrible condition. Ava jogged over to one of the women, checking to see if she was conscious. The nurse who was treating the woman before Ava got there noticed her presence and quickly explained her condition. "She has two broken ribs on the left side, her forearm is fractured, and she may have internal bleeding."

Ava quickly checked for any internal bleeding and found that there was. "Ma'am, can you tell me your name?" Ava asks the woman but there was no response. She quickly tilts the woman's head back looking and feeling for breaths. After finding that the woman wasn't breathing, she immediately started doing chest compressions. Luckily the woman started breathing on her own after a few minutes. Ava turned the women on her side, tilting her head back to keep her airway open. This would help as the woman would be able to continue breathing while they assess if there are any other issues, they didn't see at first.

After an awfully long two hours her shift was finally over. While getting ready to head home, Ava remembered she had to give Mia her movie back. With that thought in mind, Ava walked up to the front desk asking a nurse if Dr. Parker was still in surgery. (aka Mia) After checking a few things, the nurse looks up and responds, "She is still in surgery." This wasn't the answer she was hoping for, but regardless she smiled before mumbling, "Alright, thank you."

I guess I'll have to give her Breaking Dawn: part two, another day.

Ava had finally finished watching the twilight movies and could confidently say she liked the books better. Maybe it was how they made Bella slightly stupid in the movies, yet she was quite smart in the books. Ava loved the storyline, yet her views differed between the books and the movies. In the books she was all for Bella and Edward's love story, hoping that the volturi or anything the couple faced wouldn't break up their relationship.

While in the movies she didn't have that same feeling of protection towards the couple. Mia would call Ava obsessed because of how much she knew about every characters. It was Mia who had introduced Twilight to Ava when they were in high school, (the books), so she liked to joke around and blame it all on her for her own obsession with the series.

While on her way home the thought that it had been raining all day popped into her mind. This caused her to start worrying about the road she would have to take home. The road had forty-foot dirt mounds on each side of it for about fifteen miles, with deep ravines randomly in-between. When it rained hard, they would have to close it down for safety reasons. As she approached the dreaded road at the end of the interaction, it wasn't blocked off.

It's already dark outside, do I want to take that road, or do I want to go around the long way?

With a few seconds to decide, she chose the road, convincing herself that everything would be fine. As she drove down the dimly lit road she kept her mind focused on how nice it was going to be to sleep in her bed. Unfortunately, this caused her tiredness to hit her like a bus. Now extremely tired Ava swore that she would never work so many shifts again. Of course, she knew that it was a lie, as she loved her job.

There was a slight turn in the road, and it was the darkest point in the road. Having driven down this road a thousand times, Ava once again cursed at the lack of light. Her eyes started to droop, and she fought harder stay awake. While focusing on the road the best she could a squirrel ran in front of her car. This caused her to jerk awake and slightly swerve into the other lane. She glanced back at the now dark road behind her silently cursing the squirrel out.

Every time she drove down this road that damned rodent tried to commit suicide with her car! She looked back at the road now better lit then what she was previously in with a small smile. The squirl had actually accomplished something. It had her fully awake! She started to pick up speed, trying her best to get home as quickly as possible. The headlights from one of the other cars that was passing by, blinded her momentarily. While blinking quickly to get rid of the circles in her vision, a patch of mud filled branches hit the bottom of her car. The thump confused Ava. Her vision was clear now, and she was trying to figure out what had happened. She put her foot on the break slowing down from her previous speed, but soon noticed that the steering wheel felt like it was locked in place and was hard to turn. Fear coursed through her body, as thousands of thoughts raced in her mind.

Out of fear she quickly hit the brakes, not liking how fast she was going under the new circumstances. This only caused more problems as another patch of the road was covered in mud, which caused her car to skid across the road. Other cars swerved out of the way trying to avoid crashing into her. Ava wasn't that lucky as it didn't matter how hard she tried to control the way her car moved, there was a semi coming down the road seconds away from hitting her.

Ava saw her life flash in front of her eyes, as she desperately tried to move out the way. The diver of the semi tried to slow down, but that didn't work. When the initial collision happened, her head hit the steering wheel, then the window, and then the back of her seat. Her car was destroyed as it was pushed closer to the thirty-foot ravine. Ava was still awake during this, but once her car flipped over the barrier that was intended to stop cars from going into the ravine; her head hit the steering wheel once again and she was knocked unconscious.
