Chapter Five: Patience is a gift, a gift that not all people have.

  Today was Monday the day before Edward comes back, and stuff starts to fall in place for the future. My arm has been killing me, but the pain medication is really helping. At the moment I was lying in bed, school had already started, but Charlie was still paranoid. He said that I couldn't go back just yet, but that I could go back tomorrow so I wasn't behind on my schoolwork.

As I was sitting here, I started thinking; why doesn't Edward like me? He hasn't even met me yet; I'm still giving him the benefit of the doubt! Rosalie said she didn't trust me; but when she saw my arm she acted like a mother; it was kind of nice. She had also been texting everyday asking if I was ok, which I was, just an annoying cast getting in the way of my daily activities. Although I did get something out of this entire experience, never go on a hike again. It will kill me next time; I was sure of it! I sigh deciding to just fall asleep to make the day go by faster.

I woke up around two in the morning, but for a weird reason. I had the strangest feeling I was being watched. I shake my head throwing the blanket I was using to the side of the bed, before heading downstairs. It was Tuesday and I had a feeling that I was being watched; if you put those two together you get one thing. Edward Cullen. I opened the front door with full confidence that I was correct. Once I walked onto the porch I said, "You do know I can have you arrested for stalking."

Edward's POV

I had just got back from Alaska, once I got into the house I was greeted by Esme, and we hugged for a couple of minutes. I could tell she really missed me all of them did, but I had to get everything under control before going to see Olivia again. I read Carlisle's mind and learned what happened while I was gone mostly about Bella. Jasper could feel my worry and said, "She doesn't mean us any harm Edward." I started to worry, even Jasper was tricked by her. "How do you know that?" I ask angerly. Jasper looked at me irritated before answering, "Just because I can't use my gift on her doesn't mean I can't tell if someone was lying."

I could tell that I needed to calm down they were my family, not my enemy. "I'm not saying you can't; it's just she knows so much about us, and we only know her First and Last name." Carlisle came up to me saying, "She will tell us later today, Edward. Theirs no need to worry if she wanted to do something, she would have done it already." I trusted Carlisle's judgment, but I was still concerned.

"Alright; but I just need to be sure." After that I went to her house and saw her sleeping, which did make since, it was two in the morning. After about five minutes of debating whether or not I should go and wake her up, she was awake. I watched her closely hoping to get something, anything from what she was doing. She left her bedroom and came out onto the porch. Why was she on the porch? My question was answered when she said, "You do know I can have you arrested for stalking." How did she know that I was watching her? So, I decided to come out of the shadows and face her head on.

Ava POV

Edward came out of the shadows and asked, "How did you know that I was here?" I crossed my arms unimpressed. "I can see the future, remember?" He looked at me skeptically before quickly trying to explain himself. "I just got back-" I cut him off already knowing the answer. "From the Denali's, I know." He gave me another questioning look before asking, "How did you know that?" I sigh wondering if he forgot what I told Carlisle.

"That's not the point. Why are you watching me sleep?" I demanded. He still hasn't answered my question, so I raise an eyebrow at him, when he finally answers. "Look; I just got back, and I found out about everything that has happened while I was gone. I don't really trust you we know nothing about you." I cross my arms and look at him in confusion. "They did tell you about our agreement, yes?" He nods but says nothing. I was at least expecting an explanation. "So, you knew about the agreement, but still decided to stalk me? Do you have any idea what time it is? What did you expect to get?" I yell angerly.
