“Christmas only comes once a year. The love that I have for you comes only once in a lifetime.”

Merry Christmas everyone and we hope you have a wonderful New Year!

“Hey,” my best friend, Hayes says, as he took a seat in front of me for lunch. “The Christmas dance is in two days. Did someone asked you out yet?”

“No,” I frown. “Did you ask a girl yet?”

“They’re all taken,” he laughs. “Do you maybe want to go with me? Like, we always do when no one asked us.”

“Sure,” I giggle.

Hayes and I have been best friend for a life time. There’s no time where we didn’t spend our time together. We’re the unbreakable friends. You could never separate us. We wouldn’t last long without talking or texting each other. Every time I’m with him, it’s always fun. He always cheers me up when I’m feeling down. He never fails to amaze me. To be honest, I kind of like him a little bit. I mean, who wouldn’t. That dreamy blue eye of his is the first part I started liking him. And let’s not forget about his tall and muscular body. He has everything that a girl could ever ask for. He’s the meaning of perfection.

The school dance is in 3 hours. I still haven’t chosen what dress to wear. Well, maybe because I don’t like to wear dresses and I don’t have one. Maybe I should just wear jeans and a Christmas shirt? I hear the doorbell rang. I run to the door from the kitchen. I open the door to reveal Hayes on the other side, holding 2 red dresses. He smiles at me and I return the gesture. I open the door wider for him to come in.

“Hey,” I say, sitting down beside him on the couch.

“Hi,” he smiles. “I bought these for you.”

He hands me the dresses and I look at him.

“Why?” I ask him.

“I realize that I just ask a girl for the Christmas dance who doesn’t have any dresses in her closet,” he laughs and I join him.

I look at the dresses and they are all gorgeous. I look back to Hayes and I smile so big. I lean in for a hug and he hugs me back.

“They look so beautiful,” I say on the crook of his neck. “Thank you so much. This really means a lot to me and that probably cost you a lot of money. How can I make it up to you?”

“Just go to the dance with me,” he smirks, pulling away from our embrace. “That’s all I want.”

“Thank you again so much,” I reply as he stand up from the couch.

“I better let you get dress for tonight,” he smiles. “I’ll pick you up at 6.”

I nod my head and out he goes. I run to my room and lay the dresses on my bed separately. Before I could go to my bathroom, my sister, Mahogany, opens the door.

“Hey,” she cheers, entering my room.

“Hi,” I smile, as she looks down to my dresses.

“Which dress are you going to where tonight?” she asks. “Where did you get them anyway?”

“I don’t really know which one to wear,” I shrug my shoulders, as we sit down on the edge of my bed. “And Hayes bought them for me.”

“Aww you too are so cute,” she smirks. “I wish he would ask you out already.”
