chapter 14

*Harry's P.O.V.*

"Liam and Toni have been gone for quite a while." Louis said.

"I'll go look for them." Kara said.

I jumped for the opportunity to spend one on one time with her. "I'll go with you." I said almost too quickly. I don't think anyone noticed though.

"Okay." she said with a smile. We grabbed out jackets and went out looking for them.

We walked for what seemed like a really long time, until we stumbled across an ice cream stand.

"Wanna get some ice cream?" I asked her.

"I would love to, but I don't have any money" She told me.

"Don't worry. I'll pay for you." I said.

"No, I can't ask you to do that." she said.

"Well, you're not asking me to do it. I'm telling you that I am. And its just an ice cream cone. I'm not going to go into bankrupt over a small ice cream." I said.

She just smiled and said "okay"

We walked up to the stand, and ordered our ice cream. I suddenly realized that we were supposed to be looking for Liam and Toni, but I didn't say anything. I was having too much fun with Kara.

"So how long have you and Toni been friends?" I asked.

"since 8th grade." she said with a smile on her face.

"So you guys must be pretty close." I said.

"Yes. We know each other better than we know our selves." She stated.

"So then you know how she feels about Liam?" I asked. I wasn't being nosey, I just wanted to make sure she wasn't playing with his emotions.

"She's crazy about him. I haven't seen her this happy since before she was with her ex, Ronnie." She told me. Obviously happy to see her best friend happy.

"How long were they together?" I asked.

"I believe it was a year. I think it was their one year anniversary, he cheated on her and she finally dumped his sorry ass." She said.

"What a douche." I said bluntly.

"Yeah. I hated seeing her so upset all the time. She only dated him because the whole school expected them to date. Eventually she taught herself to love him. She thought she was in love with him and that's why she was so upset when he cheated. He cheated on her with someone who was supposed to be her friend so she felt betrayed. She was a mess. And then everything that happened at home, I'm glad she found you guys to make her honestly smile for once in 2 years." she said in only 2 breaths.

"We're just as happy that she came into our lives. She's a lovely girl. I can't believe all that she's been through."

"Yeah. I just wish she didn't always have to wear long sleeves. I hate that she feels like she has to cover up her past." she told me, with sadness in her voice.

I pulled her into a hug automatically knowing why Toni 'had' to cover her arms. It pained me to know that anyone, especially Toni, would self harm. Toni is one of the closest girl friends I've ever had and I hated knowing she's been through so much. "We're going to make her happy. No matter what it takes." I said to her.

*Toni's P.O.V.*

We were still laying under the stars and I stared at my phone. the time read 10:43 pm.

"They're going to start wondering where we are." I told Liam.

"Let them wonder. I want to stay in this moment as long as possible." He said.
