Chapter 39

Kairi's Pov

Im driving away, as far as I possibly can.

I just broke up with my girlfriend, I wasn't thinking.

No noo, this is all my fault. I slam my head against the steering wheel not caring if I crash.

I look back up at bright white lights right in front of my car. And that's when it hit me. The impact too strong almost crushing my body against the car door.

I sit up panting as I rush my hands through my hair. What the fuck just happened. I look down and see myself with tubes sticking out of my arms. I turn around a few times trying to figure out we're I am. Am I in a hospital?

"Kairi?" A women says walking into the room.

"Yes?" I say settling myself back into the white bed.

"Hi, you were in a accident so I suggest you stay here for a while, your not seriously hurt so you can leave if you want. But again, we recommend you stay for a while." She says before grabbing a few things and walking out.

No way am I staying here. I unclip the tubes that are on my arm and whip away the blanket that is covering me. I look down and notice that my shoes aren't below me. I lower myself down on the tile wincing as my feet make contact with the cold floor.

I make my way to the door holding the hospital robe around my body. I reach out my other hand for the door when it suddenly opens.

Y/N stands there holding the door handle with her hand and a vase of flowers in the other.

"Uh hi." I say, my eyes flickering between the vase of flowers and her eyes.

"Hi Kairi." She lets go of the door handle and makes a shy little wave.

"What do you want."

"What do you mean what do I want? You were in a car crash Kairi. I just want to make sure your okay." She says shoving the vase into my arms.

"Yes i'm fine."

"Didn't seem like it a few days ago." She says rolling her eyes and crossing her arms.

"What?"

"Kairi, you've been in here for days."

"I don't understand, or remember what happened." I say to Mattia as I take a sip of my coffee.

"Ugh here i'll repeat it again, you were driving. You got unfortunate news and pulled over. You broke up with Y/N and left her in a mcdonald's parking lot. Rushed away, and crashed."

I stare at him for a while before responding," How long was I out? Y/N says a few days."

Mattia scoffs and looks behind me," more like a few weeks, Kairi what do you not understand. You were in a coma."

I raise an eyebrow processing what he just said. "So, I was in a coma.." I say talking slowly.

"YES KAIRI"

"okay okay I get it." I raise my hands up in defense.

"Finally, are you done with your coffee its getting late." He nods to my half empty cup.

"I'll just throw it out." I say grabbing my cup as we get up walking to his car.

I take a breath in pointing my finger upwards," Why about my car?"

"o.m.g."

I giggle as I sit down in his car.

I wave to Mattia as he drives away. I turn back around walking into the building. I wait for the elevator scrolling through my instagram. I door rings and I look up at the two doors sliding apart.

"Hey Kairi!" I cheerful voice says.

I roll my eyes,"what do you want."

He smiles walking over to me," nothing just saying hi."

He drops his smile as the doors close and the elevator starts to move up.

"I heard you and Y/N broke up. Getting rid of Chloe wasn't that useful after all huh?" He says shrugging his shoulders and putting a smile back on his face walking out of the doors.

I stand still as my heart drops. As the doors start to close. I rush to them putting my hands in between running after Kairi M.

"What, what do you mean by getting rid of Chloe." I say jogging to keep up my pace with him as he walks down the hall.

"Kairi don't act dumb," he says stopping in front of a room and pointing at the number," who do you think her roommate is." He closes to door leaving me outside of his room, grasping my chest trying to catch my breath.
