10 YEARS AGO

"Soobin honey come here" his mother called him.

7 year old soobin came down from his bedroom to see his mother and father  sitting on the couch with red teary eyes.

This image alone made him nervous.
He went down the stairs as his mother brought out her arms so she could cradle her child.

"Soobin baby" she says. "We have to tell you something" she looks at soobins father who was looking down wiping his tears.

"D-do you know what a tumor is?"

Young soobin sook his head. His eyes already got watery. He was just so nervous.

"It's okay" his mother swept away his tears and hugged him tightly. "It'll be alright" she forced a smile.

"Soobin they found a tumor on your father's spine" her words were shaky as she tried but to cry in front of her innocent child. "And it's cancer" she let out a small cry.

Soobin let out a cry, he didn't even know what was going on but it scared him. It scared him so much. He reached out for his father as he gladly held him in his arms. "Just let me go, it'll b alright soobin" he smiles weakly.
"It won't be easy but it'll be alright". His father said such comforting words he calmed down.
Soon enough he fell asleep in his father's arms.

Eight years have pasted and soobins father is doing well. His tumor stoped expanding. It's been the same size for almost 4 years!

He has always thought about the words his father said to him when he found out. And he believed them. That it'll be alright.

He was in his room when he heard something shatter and his mother screaming. He immediately got out of his room to see his father laying on the floor shaking as his mother removes everything near him.

He was so shocked that he didn't hear his mother screaming to call the ambulance.

And soon enough he didn't even remember the ambulance picking him up too.

He woke up with wires attached to him and being confused until he remembered about his father. He started to ripping off the wires even if it was painful he just wanted to see his father. But before he was out the door a nurse came in to 'calm' him down. After a few seconds of telling the nurse he needs to see his father she gave in and out took him.

They entered the room and he saw his father hooked up to wires too it made him regret not doing anything. He ran to him. "I'm so sorry dad! I'm so sorry! It's all my fault I should've done something!" He cried. He continues to cry and repeat sorry until he feels a hand on his head. His eyes widen and looks up.

"Soobin, son" she spoke weakly.
"No matter how many people you may lose, you have no choice but to go on living. No matter how devastating the damage may be" he rubbed soobins face and smiles before closing his eyes and going weak.

"Thank you dad"

And that was the day he wanted to know how all this happened.
