Harry was quiet the rest of the way home. When we enter the flat he takes my bags from me but refuses to look me in the eyes before he takes them to my room. I know that Harry is going to be in there for awhile and he doesn’t want to be bothered, so I head into the living room where Liam is watching a sports game and playing on his phone.

“Hey Li,” I sigh as I sink down onto the couch next to him.

“Hey Nialler, what’s up?” he asks, setting his phone down and turning his attention to me.

“Harry and I saw Anne today,” I explain.

Liam’s eyes bug out, “How did Harry react?”

“He didn’t. Anne was shocked to see him obviously, but she was ushered away before anything could happen. We were having such a good day too! Harry applied for some jobs and I asked him to go to Ireland with me for-”

“You asked him to go to Ireland with you?” Liam exclaims, shocked.

I nod, “I told my mom I’m seeing someone and she told us to come down for Christmas.”

“That’s nice. So you won’t be around for Christmas then?” he asks.

“Are you kidding me? If I missed Lou’s birthday I would never hear the end of it! Plus, I would never miss his party anyway; they’re always legendary,” I explain, “What’s today? The eighteenth? I figure we’ll leave maybe tomorrow night or the twentieth in the morning and fly back in on the twenty third.”

Liam nods in understanding. “So you guys are pretty serious then?”

        “I like him a lot,” I admit.

Liam smiles at me and I grin back, “I’m really happy for you Ni.”

“Thanks Li,” I reply, pulling him in for a hug.

Liam’s phone buzzes and he goes to check his messages. I’m assuming that he’s being called into work, but I’m surprised when he says, “Lou and Zayn want all of us to go out tonight.”

“Oh sweet, let me ask Harry and change,” I tell him. We agree to meet back in the living room when we’re done.

I knock on the door to my room and call through the door, “Harry?”

I don’t get a response so I decide to just walk in. Harry is lying on the bed with his eyes closed, listening to the music on his MyTab that I helped him download.

I tug my shirt off of my head and toss it at him as I go to get another from my dresser.

“What’s up Ni?” Harry asks, pulling an ear bud out of his ear and looking over at me.

“Lou and Z want to hang out tonight, wanna come?” I pull my new shirt on and walk over to Harry.

“I’m pretty tired, I think I’ll stay here,” he replies, taking my hand in his.

“Want me to stay?” I ask and sit next to him.

        “No, you go,” he insists.

        “You sure?”

Harry gives me a firm nod in response.

“Alright, call if you need anything,” I tell him and peck him on the lips before making my way to the door.

        “You too, have fun Ni!”

        “I’ll try,” I reply with a smile.

“Ready?” I ask Liam when I enter the living room.

        “Yup. Let’s go.”

“Where’s Harry?” Louis asks as Liam and I take our seats at the table. We’re at our favorite bar tonight.

“He said he was tired, couldn’t make it,” I explain as I call the waitress over and order a pint.

“Awe, I was starting to like the bugger,” he complains.

“He’ll come next time,” I promise.

The lads and I are having a great time and we’ve been here for about an hour. Zayn and Liam are telling the story of the time in college where I got wasted and started to strip when Lou interrupts the two.

        “Hey, is that Harry?”

We all turn to look out the window. Harry is indeed outside the bar. It looks like he’s asking someone something.

A smile spreads over my face. “He probably came to meet us,” I tell them.

But that’s not the case. Harry thanks the stranger and walks away.

        “Or not,” Zayn says.

“I’ll be right back,” I tell the boys.

I slip my coat on and leave the bar. I head the way I saw him leave. I don’t see him anywhere. There are a lot of people crowding the streets, trying to get their Christmas shopping done. I’m just about to turn back when I see his head of curls heading up the stairs to the train station.

I walk faster, making my way over to the station but the train is already there and he’s already on the train and I know I won’t be able to make it there.

The train pulls away and I get a terrible feeling in my stomach. I grab someone passing me by their arm and ask the question that I already know the answer to, “Where’s that train going?”

        “It’s headed to Styles Enterprise.”
