“So, did you find any potential jobs?” I ask Harry as he takes a seat across from me at the diner I told him to meet me at for lunch.

“Possibly,” Harry responds, eyes skimming the menu.

I nod and open my menu. I’m not thinking about the food, my mind is on how to ask Harry to come to Ireland with me. We’ve only been dating a very short amount of time and I’m already asking him to meet my family, I don’t want him to be creeped out or anything.

    “Sir?”

I jump, looking up at the waiter. Both he and Harry are giving me confused looks. I didn’t even realize that he had come to take our orders. I haven’t even picked anything out yet.

“Sorry, just give me a burger with everything,” I tell him, picking something at random.

The waiter writes down my order, collects the menus, and is then on his way.

    “Everything okay?” Harry asks me.

I take a sip of water before answering, “I talked to my mom today.”

“Is that a good thing or a bad thing Ni?” Harry asks. I forgot that I’ve never talked about my family with him before.

“It’s not a bad thing,” I offer, “She was talking about us visiting for Christmas.”

Harry didn’t miss what I said.

    “We?” he asks.

“We,” I confirm as the waiter sets down our food, “I may have let it slip that I’m seeing someone and she asked me to bring you.”

Harry chews on a fry, thinking.

“Does she know that you’re dating a guy?”

“Yeah, of course,” I reply through a bite of my burger.

Harry scrunches his nose, “Don’t talk with your mouth full.”

“You like it,” I grin at him.

“No, I like you,” he tells me.

“Same thing,” I roll my eyes and laugh.

“Whatever you say babe,” he laughs.

I blush at the name of endearment.

“You’re so cute,” he sighs dreamily, resting his head on his fist, “How did I get so lucky?”

I shrug, my mouth full of food again. “Luck of the Irish I guess,” I wink at him.

“Well I guess I’ll have to see where my little lucky charm originated from now won’t I?” he smiles cheekily.

“You’re coming?” I ask in disbelief.

“Yeah, I’ll go anywhere with you.”

I’m so excited that I could kiss him, and I can, so I do.

“Yay,” I cheer, doing a happy dance in my seat after we pull apart.

“You’re an idiot,” Harry laughs at me.

    “But I’m your idiot.”

    “Damn straight.”

I’m so glad that Harry decided to come with me to Ireland. I’m so excited to show him around. I’m not even worried about what my family is going to ask him, or me about quitting my job, or what embarrassing things they’re going to tell Harry.

Lunch put me in the best mood ever, and I don’t think that anything can bring down my mood.

Until the walk back to the train.

Harry and I are on our way to the monorail station. We’re holding hands, and Harry offered to carry some of my bags so I let him. We’re laughing and joking around and everything in this moment is perfect.

We have to pass the most famous restaurant in the city, La Teriff. Right before Harry and I pass by, five burly men step out of the restaurant. They are somebody’s body guards. Of course, to make things worse, Anne Styles herself walks out.

The paps start taking pictures and she’s shifting her head this way to look at the cameras over here and I’m praying that she doesn’t look at Harry and I, but of course she does.

When her eyes meet mine the smile falls from her lips, but when she sees Harry her steps falter and she almost stops walking completely.

I grip Harry’s hand and he squeezes mine in response.

All too fast Anne is ushered into a limo and it drives away.

I tug at Harry’s hand gently and we continue our walk to the station. I don’t like the fact that I can’t read the look on his face.

“That was a lot of bodyguards,” I say, trying to lighten the mood.

“Well, that’s my mother for you.”
