My eyes and mind must be playing games on me right now. Could this day get any worse?
"What are you doing here?" He inquired his face full of anger.
"I could ask you the same," I said.
"This is my son's house. What business do you have here?" He asked and tightened his grip on my arm.
I tried to free my hand from his grip but failed. He was way stronger than me.
We heard the click of heels approaching, I already knew it was her!
"Well! Well! Well! What do we have here?" She asked eyeing me from head to toe, her eyes full of disgust.
She looked stunning as usual. She wore a knee-length cream satin dress, a fur black coat and black heels. She was melanin skin though she always had a face full makeup on, I cannot remember any time I had ever seen her without make-up.
Mrs Fulmer and I have never gotten along, not even for a single day. She disliked me from the very first time Robin introduced me to her. Mr Fulmer on the hand was not around most of the times. I had only met him twice for the three years Robin and I were together.
"You have the audacity to show up here, and to add salt to the injury, you bring a man to my son's house!" She said and moved closer to me. Mike was standing near the dresser facing away from us.
SMACK!
She raised her hand and smacked me hard on the cheek. It definitely left a mark!
My eyes were opened but I could not see anything. If Mr Fulmer was not holding my hand I would have landed on the ground.
"What the fuck!" Mike said moving away from the dresser and held my right hand.
"Micheal Chambers!" Mr Fulmer said in astonishment.
"Mr Fulmer" Micheal confirmed.
The three of them looked from each other surprise written all over their faces. They most definitely knew each other.
Things were happening real quick, I could not comprehend any of this right now. The smack had ignited the migraine.
"What are you doing here?" Mr Fulmer directed the question to Mike.
"Nas wanted to look around her former boyfriend's house for something she left, so I accompanied her." He answered matter-of-factly.
"Quit playing dumb here, Mike." Mr Fulmer retorted
"I don't know what you mean," Mike said calmly.
"Why are you in Kenya?"
"Vacation." He answered.
"I don't think so!" Mr Fulmer said getting irritated.
"But I am," Mike said firmly.
"I find it hard to believe that it is just a mere coincidence, you are in Robin's house right now." He barked.
"You are allowed to believe whatever you like Sir," Mike said in a low voice. "Now can you please let go of her hand, you are hurting her and by the way were just leaving."
Mr Fulmer released my hand. His hand left a big mark on my arm. This family only left painful marks on me.
"No one is going anywhere!" Mrs Fulmer shouted.
I honestly wanted to get out of this house more than anything but I also wanted answers. Nothing was making sense. I came here to try and find answers but right now I was feeling more confused than I was before.
