Satan must be dancing with my destiny!I stared widely at the white sheet of paper on the ground and my heart stopped for a second when I saw the name Ohio.
I picked it up my hands trembling and my bottom lip quivering. My heart was now thumping so fast I thought it was going to beat out of my chest.
This can't be!
An eerie feeling developed as sweat trickled down my face. I held on to my chest with the other hand as I sank on the floor.
I inspected the paper again, mixed emotions running through me. I felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest, making it hard for me to breath and my vision becoming blurry.
I shut my eyes and took a deep breath. I tried to collect my scattered thoughts.
Robin left me his address! So he had run away? The bottom line was he wanted me to find him.
Robin was waiting for me all this time and I thought he had just abandoned me. Life has a funny way of proving us wrong!
Aside from the wristwatch, what did the white rose mean?
I doubt if he was still waiting for me after two years or whether he was even still in Ohio.
I contemplated the decision I was going to take. Should I try and find him? Who should I tell about this? My dad? Laret? Mike?
I laid on my back on the floor staring at the ceiling fierce emotions running through me.
I loved Mike now, I wasn't going to try and find Robin but something in me was not in agreement with that. Did that mean a part of me still loved Robin?
Well, they say your first love is unforgettable until you meet the love of your life.
Was this my fateful case or-
A sound of my phone vibrating on my bedside table brought me back into reality. I reached out for it, Mike was calling.
I ignored the call. I honestly couldn't form a coherent thought to hold a conversation at the moment.
Finding out that Robin had left me his address had hit me like a wrecking ball.
I got up and made my way to the kitchen to grab a glass of water. After downing two glasses, I made my way back to my room. Mike was still trying to reach me.
"Yeah," I answered.
"Nas, " He mumbled softly.
I wondered why he always had to confirm whether it's me talking.
"Are you ready?" He asked and I could sense the urgency in his voice.
"No, give me ten minutes, I'll be done. Are you already here?" I asked sauntering to the bathroom.
He took a quick breath, "Yep I'm already here, don't take long."
"Cool," I muttered and ended the call before stepping into the shower.
Out of the shower, I applied a touch of powder then mascara and finished with lipgloss on my lips. I wore the white sundress that I had not clad on in a long time, I had ditched dresses due to the scars on my thighs but now I had nothing to worry about. I paired my outfit with pink and white flats. I had blow-dry my hair and let it loose.
Looking at my final results in the mirror I was impressed, Mike had not seen me in a dress!
After collecting my pulse and phone I hurried outside to meet Mike. I was expecting to find him waiting for me outside his car but he wasn't. When I approached the car he immediately got out and strode towards me.
He gently grabbed my waist and hoisted me up, "you are extremely breathtaking."
I giggled lightly when he placed me down. "My beautiful queen," he whispered softly in my ear his warm breath caressing my neck and his minty scent overpowering me.
Once we were settled in the car, Mike turned me around and took my mouth in a searing kiss that set my heart on fire and left me yearning for more.
"Where are we going?" I inquired running my hand through his beard. Our eyes were locked together.
"It's a surprise," he let out.
I simply nodded. I couldn't wait for him to explain all the mystery that surrounded him. What about all that I had discovered about Robin's whereabouts? should I tell him or not?
"What's wrong?" He asked his voice full of concern.
I wanted to tell him about the note, he had said he didn't want any secrets between us however my mouth could not utter a word. I stared down my hands and shook my head.
Mike pressed his thumb under my chin and tilted my head, " What's wrong?" He inquired again his eyes staring right into me. I felt like he could read my mind.
"I'm. . . I'm worried about. . . Roy." I stammered.
"He tried to get his way with you and now you're worried about him? See how good of a person you are, Nas?" Mike asked.
I know he meant what he said but I was also accurately aware he was avoiding the question. That is one of the questions I was eager to know the answer to.
We drove in silence, I pushed any thoughts about Robin off my mind and tried to focus on all the questions I had regarding Mike.
We headed towards Eastleigh and I couldn't help but wonder where Mike was precisely taking me. We didn't drive for long before we arrived at an abandoned warehouse.
"We are here, " Mike announced parking the car in front of the warehouse and alighting to open the door for me.
"What is this place?" I implored scanning the surroundings.
"Close your eyes, " Mike said getting out a black and white bandana from his jeans pocket.
I did as I was told and Mike tied the bandana around my eyes.
Still standing behind me, he draped his hands on my waist, "Do you trust me, Nas?"
"You know I do, " I replied.
"Great, " he held my hand and led me to the warehouse. "There are a few stairs, I'm going to haul you up, okay?"
"Okay, " I answered and he carried me bridal style up the stairs.
He put me gently down on my feet and without warning his lips crushed with mine. "I love you, Nas, " Mike whispered tagging on my bottom lip.
"I love y-" before I could finish, he slid his tongue in my mouth while pushing me against a wall.
I had never made out with a guy before while being blindfolded, it was a bit kinky!
After the kiss, Mike rested his chin on top of my head. He was breathing heavily his hand wrapped tightly around my body. "Mike you're suffocating me, " I let out my voice muffled.
"I'm sorry my love, " he said realisation in his voice as he unwrapped his hands from my body. "I'll take this off, " he added untying the bandana.
Squinting, I tried to take in the room, it was empty. The pink walls were chipped and the glass windows were broken.
Was this the supposed surprise?
I turned to Mike to implore but my heart came to a halt. Mike was pointing a gun at me, his eyes cold and deadly.
