Snow rests upon the park bench as if it were a feather cushion, soft and warm. It covers the rich, deep wood in perfect white. Days like these were what you lived for, days sitting on this exact park bench in the snow, the cool and moist wind kissing your skin, an old, classic book, and a mug of your mother's famous hot chocolate to keep you warm.
You glanced over to the field that covered with a thick blanket of white and see the group of four along with the sheriff's son.
There layed the redhead and raven-haired girl on the snow, in each other's arms cuddling, sneaking kisses on each other while watching their dark-haired friend sneaking glances at a certain blonde.
Jughead sat cross-legged on the blanket that spread out on the ground covered in snow while writing an article on his laptop, occasionally sneaking glances at Betty.
The entire group knew about the boy's little, but huge, crush on the blonde. They noticed the way he sneaks glances at her when she's not looking, the way he shared his food with her when it is unlikely of him to do so, the way he offered to help her in almost everything she needed him for. All in all, she got him wrapped around her finger.
When the group offered to help Jughead ask Betty out, he quickly declined the offer. He knew something the group didn't know which led him to a broken heart but, nonetheless, he is happy for the person that stole Betty's attention.
Betty, on the other hand, is reading a large, leather book. Her eyebrows twitching in amusement as the story climaxes, her nose pinkish due to the cold, and sometimes she finds herself drifting off to thinking about her crush, who is currently sitting on the park bench nearby.
Betty knew about the crush Jughead has for her and she tends to find ways to not break his heart. But when he caught Betty writing on her diary that one day at lunch in the Blue and Gold, she knew she broke his heart even if he acted as if he was excited about it with his face plastering a fake smile.
Betty truly felt bad for Jughead but she knew that Jughead deserves better. She isn't the perfect girl for him even if he thinks she is.
Kevin nudged Jughead to make a move but he refused. Again. Kevin continued this action every three minutes which got in Jughead's nerves and so, he slammed his laptop shut and snapped his head towards the sheriff's son.
"What do you want, Kevin?" He roared in annoyance.
This caught the attention of the others as well as the y/h/c headed girl nearby but she looked back at her book and put all her focus in it.
"Can't you just make a move? Or do you like sitting there sneaking glances when you could be doing much more to her?" Kevin whispered, low enough for only Jughead to hear but unfortunately, the blonde heard it clearly.
"I don't want to and besides if I really want to, she likes someone else. How many times do you want me to tell you that?"
"You don't know that. She might like you back-"
The dark-haired boy raised his hand to stop the other boy and cut him off, "That's exactly it. I know who she likes. So, can you please stop sticking your head up my ass and mind your own god damn business?"
