Cheryl's POV

I held Y/n's hand as we walked under the sky of perfect midnight velvet. Multiple white specks splattered the dark sky with a star or two shining brighter than usual. The bright moonlight shining from above us casts dark shadows that followed every single movement we make.

Waves roar and roll down, crashing onto the shore with a soft hiss, peeling away at the deep bronze sand beneath our feet. The midnight breeze nipping at my skin and flowing through my fiery red hair makes me shiver slightly.

Y/n came to a halt and removed her hand from mine which caused me to whine in need of her touch. She peeled off her Serpent jacket and opens it up for me to slip my pale arms in. I furrowed my eyebrows, "Aren't you cold, Y/n?"

"I'm used to the cold. Take this, it'll keep you warm." Y/n says and I nodded my head as I slipped in the sleeves of the leather material.

The clothing apparently is too big for me because she is quite tall causing the sleeves to overrun my arms and the hem to reach mid thigh. I smoothed out the material and gladly accepted her warm hand and clasped it into mine.

We walked down the beach in silence with just the sound of the waves and the padding of our bare feet. I smile at the thought of finally being with Y/n from a long week away from her.

She had to do some so called 'business' but apparently it wasn't anything illegal, which I was thankful for. She didn't tell me what it was though which made me want to question her but I just shrugged it off to the back of my mind.

I ran my slender fingers through my hair with my free hand and sighed happily.

"You good?" Y/n asked me as she held me in her arms.

"Yeah. I just want to stay like this forever. It's just happy and peaceful, you know? No psycho parents. No stupid jocks, annoying cheerleaders, and judge judy townsmen. No crazy serial killers, no stupid mysteries to crack, nothing else. Just us." I mumbled softly in her chest, loud enough for her to hear.

"I wish we could stay like this forever. But, we cant." Y/n trailed off with a slight frown, "But, that's why we should cherish this moment. Okay, Cherry?"

"Okay." I giggled and placed a soft kiss on her jaw. A huge smile made its way to her face and she leaned down to peck my lips.

We made our way closer to the water and sat down on the bronze hue of dust. Our feet out in front of us as the cold, salty water tickles our toes. I cuddled against Y/n's side and snuggled my head on her toned stomach.

"Hey, babe?" Y/n breaks the silence and looks down at me.

"Yeah?" I looked up at her y/e/c eyes and tucked a strand of y/h/c hair that has fallen behind her ear.

"Marry me." She breathed out and I shot out from my positioned and looked at her with my eyebrows shot up and my eyes widened.

"What are you saying?" I asked quietly.

She took a dark velvet box from her back pocket, opened it to show a diamond ring, and stared back at my dark chocolate brown eyes intently, "Cheryl Marjorie Blossom. The name that brings a huge smile on my face when mentioned, the name of the person I love so dearly. That day, two years ago, when we met in the middle of the hallway, I had this gut feeling that you'll be mine and I you. When you trash talked me because I was a Serpent, I couldn't help but change the way I looked at you.

"Ever since that day, I tried to avoid you the best I can and fortunately, I couldn't. I couldn't help but think of you every, single, damn second. You run my mind 24/7 and I just had to talk to you. So, a week after, I did. And hell, it was the best thing that ever happened to me because I, Y/n Y/l/n, talked to thee Cheryl Blossom. From then on, we became close friends. You protected me and I protected you.

"When you enter the same room I was in, my entire life lights up and I can't help but feel happy, and you still manage to do that to me now. The very first time, ever since my parents left me, I was happy and it is because of Cheryl Blossom. You made me feel things I wasn't supposed to feel.

"And that day, the day you were at Sweetwater River, my whole life falls apart. When I saw you crying in the middle of the ice, I felt my heart stop. When you fell into the cold water, I couldn't help but feel like I was about to lose the person I needed in my life. I couldn't care less about my knuckles, bloody and bruised. All I cared about was to save you. That day, when you were fast asleep in front of the fire I had at home, I realized I loved you and I made a promise to always make you happy.

"You make me happy, Cheryl. You make me feel like I'm on top of the world. I want to wake up next to you in the mornings and fall asleep with you cuddled on my chest. I want to make you breakfast every morning and take you out on dates. I want to take you to school and give you rides around town in my motorbike. I want to make you smile and laugh everyday. I want to take you out on adventures and just goof around town. I want to marry you. I want to have children with you. I want to grow old with you, together. I want to be with you forever. So, will you, Cheryl Marjorie Blossom, make me,
Y/n Y/l/n, the happiest person alive and marry me?"

By now, tears freely flowed down my cheeks which started to hurt from the way I was smiling so hard. I jumped into her arms and grabbed her face in my hands and kissed her. I kissed her with so much passion and held onto her, hoping this isn't a dream.

"Yes, yes. A million times yes." I gushed and hugged her tightly.

Light chuckles filled the air and Y/n rubbed my back up and down. I leaned back and kissed her lips again and again and again.

Y/n took my left hand and slipped the ring on my ring finger. My hands caressed her cheek shakily and brought her in for another kiss. Our lips molded into a sweet, innocent, passionate kiss.

In need of breath, we pulled away and she cupped my cheeks.

"I love you, my queen. "

"And I love you, mon cherie."

I said and brought her in for another kiss.
