Y/n and Madelaine were in their fort, eating the dinner Madelaine had made. They were watching a Disney movie as they ate and admired each other from time to time. What Y/n didn't know though was that Madelaine had been eating and staring at her the entire time. She wanted to make her proposal beautiful but simple since Y/n liked that.

Y/n felt a piercing gaze on her and so, she looked over to the person beside her to see that she was already staring at her. Y/n blushed at the gaze Madelaine was giving and looked down to her lap.

"Y/n," Madelaine called the girl, pausing the movie.

"Yes, Mads?" Y/n responded still looking down.

Madelaine sighed softly and placed her plate aside before bringing her fingers to lift the girl's chin.

"Don't hide your gorgeous face away from me." Madelaine whined cutely and Y/n blushed before pecking Madelaine's lips.

"How can I not when you keep on saying and doing things like that?"

"Like what?" The redhead asked curiously.

"Like, looking at me as if I'm the only girl in his world. Like, loving me for who I am. And you just existing." Y/n said.

Madelaine blushed and she shoved her hand behind her, grabbing the velvet box. Y/n was about to say something but Madelaine cut her off.

"Y/n, we have been together for four years. These past years were the best years of my entire life. We may have been busy but we always found a way to be together. Those months away from each other, those fights we had, it made our relationship grow stronger. When I look into the future, I can't see anyone else that I would love other than you and our future family. You make me a better person and I—All I am saying is, will you marry me?"

Y/n was shocked and happy at the same time. She placed her plate down before digging under the pillow beside her with the least movement, reaching for something.

Madelaine grew worried and tears started forming in her eyes. She thought it was time and so, she looked away. As she was about to stand up and leave, Y/n started talking.

"Madelaine, why?"

"I-I'm sorry. If you don't want to, I'm sorry. I thought you would have wanted this and I—" Madelaine choked a sob and Y/n voiced out once more.

"The problem is why do you have to do me like that? I was supposed to be first."

Madelaine shot her head up in confusion and as she saw what Y/n was holding, tears fell down her face.

"I was supposed to be first, babe." Y/n said and opened the small velvet box, revealing a diamond ring.

Madelaine held a hand in front of her mouth as tears continued streaming down her face.

"I know I wasn't first but—you know what? Nevermind the speech, I'll save it for the wedding. So, will you marry me?" Y/n asked.

"Yes, yes, yes!" Madelaine exclaimed as she cried.

Y/n took Madelaine's hand and placed the ring on the redhead's finger. Madelaine took Y/n's hands in hers and asked, "Will you marry me?"

"Of course, baby." Y/n said and Madelaine slipped the ring on Y/n's finger.

"I love you, Madelaine."

"I love you more, Y/n." Madelaine responded before kissing Y/n deeply.
