RICKY'S POV

nini and i were sitting down near our boarding gate, waiting for our flight to be called. i was so nervous to fly back to salt lake and face my family, especially my mom. don't get me wrong, i love her but sometimes, her opinions can get a little negative and harsh. my legs were starting to bounce and nini puts her hand against my thighs, "hey, you good?"

i start to hold her hand, "yeah just nervous, that's all."

"there's no need to be nervous babe. our parents have been nothing but supportive this whole time. so don't worry. plus my moms love you." she tells me and i give her a small smile. she's right. there was really nothing to be worried about.

we arrive at salt lake at about 11 in the morning. as we get off the plane, we immediately run to baggage claim to grab our stuff and rent a car so we could drive to nini's old home. nini rings the doorbell and we were greeted by her mothers. "nini! ricky! you're finally here." they say as they give us both a hug.

nini and i enter the house and i was surprised seeing my mom and jenn setting up the table while my dad and todd were talking in the living room. "bud, good to see you again." my dad says as he and todd walk up to me to give me a hug as well as nini. we drop our bags at the living room and we walk to the dining area. "ah my favorite students!" we hear a familiar voice and nini and i turn around to greet her. "miss jenn!"

she gives us a tight hug and as we pull away she says in a joking matter, "aw you two, you can call me jenn now. we're not in east high anymore!"

after, my mom walks up to the two of us, giving nini a hug first before me. "ah congrats to you two!" she says and i was surprised that she didn't say anything negative yet.

when my mom walks away to help jenn and nini's lola with the dessert, i feel a slight pat on my back and i turn around to see hannah. "ricky, hey!"

i give her a hug and she smiles, "hannah! i hope you're doing well, by the way, this is nini. my fiancé."

"holy shit!" hannah starts to scream. "you're nina salazar- roberts!! i love all your films! i watched all of them!"

i see nini start to blush and she smiles, "aw thank you! and i heard a lot about you. your stepbrother tells me stories about you."

hannah starts jumping up in the air, "really?! holy shit! c-can i give you a hug and probably take a picture with you?"

"sure, no problem." nini says as hannah brings out her phone and takes a selfie with her. i'm really glad that they're getting along.

"alright, food is ready!" i hear carol scream and everyone takes a seat.

not gonna lie, everything was going great. the food was amazing and we all laughed, talked and shared some stories. nini and i were filling in on how our careers are going well. until we got to the topic of the wedding.

"so..." dana starts looking at both nini and i. "where are you guys going to get married?"

nini and i looked at each other first before she said, "we plan to get married here in salt lake. you know so you wouldn't have to worry about flying to la." and we hear all of them groan.

"ricky. nini." my mom speaks and my heart starts to beat really fast since i was worried she was going to say something negative. "you shouldn't worry about us alright. all of us know that you definitely want to have your wedding in la and we would be totally fine with that." she says and i immediately felt relaxed as i see all of our parents nod at the same time.

"yeah! and plus we want to go and visit la!" nini's lola adds and the room was suddenly filled with laughter.

i hold nini's hand and i can feel her relax unto me. before we flew back here, originally we both agreed to have a la wedding but we both thought that our parents would disagree with that idea since nini's family, my dad and jenn were both settled in salt lake while my mom, todd and hannah were in park city. we thought that our families wouldn't like the idea to fly in. but after hearing them, we agreed to finally do an la wedding like we hoped. "ok it's settled, we'll have our wedding in la." and we hear them cheer.

after our meal, nini, together with my mom and carol help clean the dining table, jenn and dana were sweeping the floors, my dad and todd were packing leftovers while i was with nini's lola helping her dry the dishes.

as i put the last plate into the dryer, nini's lola tells me, "ah! thank you richard for helping me. you're such a sweetheart. tell nini to keep you around."

i laugh at her comment, "aw no problem, malou. just make sure to keep making those cookies with cheesecake filling nini and i love so much."

she chuckles at my comment and pats my back lightly, "take care of my granddaughter alright? i know you love her more than anything in the world. i'm so glad that she's your partner."

"i promise you malou, i will take good care of her and give her the future and happiness she definitely deserves." i tell her and she gives me a hug.

NINI'S POV
after we all clean up, everyone settled to the living room to chat and talk even more. lynne was showing baby pictures of ricky that i haven't seen before and everyone either coos or laughs. i see ricky getting embarrassed which made me laugh even more. my moms did the same to me, showing all of my baby pictures and like ricky, i was so embarrassed. ricky starts to talk saying, "aw babe, don't worry. you were a way cuter baby than me." and the room is filled with laughter. while everyone was locked into their own conversation, mama c talking to mike and todd while mama d talking to lynne and jenn while ricky had to take a business call, hannah walks up to me.

"hi nini." she waves at me and i pat the sofa lightly, telling her to sit right next to me. "can't believe we're going to be family. my stepbrother is lucky to have you, and i'm lucky that i'm finally, in a way going to have a big sister!" she suddenly gives me a hug, leaving me shocked but i hug her back.

"aw hannah, tell you what? would you want to be one of my bridesmaids at my wedding?" i ask her and her face suddenly brightens. "agh really?! oh yes! thank you." she gives me one more hug and stands up from the sofa.

"woah, what was that all about?" i hear ricky say and he sits down next to me.

"i made her one of my bridesmaids. she's the sweetest." i respond to his question and he smiles, "wow that's amazing. it's good that you two are getting along."

"and so are our parents!" i tell him as i lean against his chest and he kisses my forehead. it was great to see our families enjoying each other's company.
