NINI'S POV
the past few months after the incident was so hard for me and ricky. sometimes, i would slowly have breakdowns when i see something related to babies or children.

flashback
i was inside my office and i see that ricky shoots me a text saying that he was outside of my school, ready to pick me up. as i grab my purse, gracie, one of my younger students comes inside and hugs me. "thank you for the class miss nini. you're the best teacher ever!"

"aw gracie. your welcome. i'll see you tomorrow ok?" i respond but i didn't notice that tears were starting to form in my eyes.

"bye bye miss nini!" she squeals, leaving the school with her mother. i didn't know why but i started breaking down again. after a few minutes, ricky walks inside. "nini baby, what's taking so - oh my god, are you ok? what happened?"

he sits right next to me and i lean against his chest, crying. "i-i j-just i don't know, one of my younger students just hugged me and i remembered o-our baby-"

"shh shh babe. it's ok to feel like this." ricky responds as he rubs my back. "it will take time, but i promise you, we'll get through this. i love you." he tells me in a shaky tone as he kisses my hair. "you're ok. we're ok."

i was lucky enough to have ricky by my side to help me get through everything. my moms would come and visit the both of us once in a while, to check up on us and our well beings. our main distraction was our careers. with ricky's new album coming up and more kids enrolling to my acting school, we had to keep our feelings hidden. eventually, as time passed, we were moving on and feeling determined. we talked and got each other's opinion. finally, we came to a conclusion that we were ready to start trying again.

at first, it was tough. every time i would check, it will always result to either a false positive or just straight up negative. but i wasn't giving up, knowing that me and ricky were so determined to have another baby and to raise a family.

that's until one cold december morning. it was two days before ricky's birthday and i was doing some last minute preparations for his surprise celebration dinner, while he was at the studio. kourtney came in early to help me set up.

we were in the kitchen counter, finalizing things with the caterers and decorators. kourtney looks up at me, looking all stressed, "hon i think you need to take a break. you look exhausted."

"no, i'm ok kourt." i said as i jot some notes on my notebook. "i really want this surprise to be perfect. ricky has done so much for me for the past years and i want to do something special for him."

kourtney notices that i was getting pale and she gets up from her seat to feel my forehead, "neeners, you look sick but you're warm. are you sure you're ok?"

i start feeling disgusting and before i could answer, i find myself running to the bathroom, throwing up while kourtney follows me.

"nini, what's happening?" kourtney asks me.

"ok, give me a sec. i think i know what's going on." i respond as i grab a towel to clean myself up.
