RICKY'S POV
days flew by so quickly and before we knew it, nini was 25 weeks pregnant. i was inside the newly painted nursery, doing some last minute touches when i feel nini's arms wrap around my shoulders. "you should take a break, love. you've been here for hours."

i turn around, greeted by her bright smile. i start to kiss her forehead. "ok, i'll be out in a while."

"nope!" nini shakes her head, emphasizing the letter p, "plus, i baked your favorite red velvet cupcakes! i know you couldn't resist those."

i give her a grin as i rub the back of her hand using my thumb, "nini, baby, thank you but you shouldn't be baking. you should be resting."

she starts chuckling a bit as she slides her fingers through my curls, "i'm perfectly fine ricky. don't worry about me. now, come on let's eat."

i helped her walk down the stairs, the smell of freshly baked cupcakes took over the place. nini insisted that i should sit down in the kitchen counter while she prepares our food.

we sat down, chatting and laughing about our days and our possible future together when our baby girl comes. nini got a little too excited when she took a big bite of her cupcake and some frosting was smeared all over the side of her mouth. i insisted on cleaning it for her by kissing it right out of her face and she just giggled at my gesture.

as soon as we were finished, nini looks up to me, "ricky." she said in a serious tone, making my heart beat faster.

"i'm scared. what if we're not good enough to be parents? what if we're not good enough to raise this child?"

"nina." i said, tucking her hair behind her ears, "look at me. yes it's scary. we're about to be parents for the first time, but we'll figure everything out together. and i promise you that i'll be by your side the whole time. everything is a lot less scary anyway when we're together."

she gives me a quick kiss, "i love you."

"i love you too."

"hey," i add. "let me remind you that you will be an amazing mother. just saying."

she gasps, "what makes you say that?"

"i've known you since we were 16, nins. you're such an amazing friend, daughter and wife. what more when you become a mother?"

she smacks my chest lightly, "oh my gosh, stop! no need to get on my good side bowen."

"you know i only speak facts though." i reply and she continues to laugh, "well, let me tell you. you're going to be an amazing father."

i try to imitate her, "oh yeah, and what makes you say that?"

"i just know."
