Wei Ying was grinning from ear to ear listening to his fiance talk. Lan Zhan was talking to his brother about their wedding, the current topic was food. Their wedding wasn't going to be big, to quote Lan Zhan, 'Our wedding is not for others, when I marry you that day is for you, and for me. It can be as big, or small as you like, this day is ours, not theirs, and I don't need to have an extravagant wedding to prove how much I love you.'

It's safe to say Wei Ying's heart melted at those words. They were looking forward to their small wedding, it was just going to have people who they trusted and wanted there, Lan Xichen for example.

They were weeks out from the big day and Lan Xichen wanted to be aware of what foods to get in before it, the three were currently discussing. Obviously, there was spicy food and Emperors Smile as well as food that the guests could eat, although guests like Jiang Cheng were likely to eat whatever.

Leaning over the table in the Library Pavilion, his posture hadn't changed through the years, he rested his head on his fist and stared at his fiance with love.

His fiance is all his. Wei Ying smiled at the thought.

Lan Zhan felt his stare and looked over, his eyes were gentle and soft for his Wei, "Is there something I forgot?" Lan Zhan asked, although he knew he didn't. He just knew that once Wei had been caught staring he'd get all flustered but this time he didn't.

Wei Ying scratched his head, "Hmm no?" He smiled, "I just love looking at you."

Lan Xichen smiled at the two, finally, his baby brother was content and that's all he could wish for, "Master Wei, I assume this shamelessness will continue well after your wedding?" He chuckled.

Wei Ying grinned, "How is it something to be ashamed of?" His tone held a hint of mischief, "Lan Zhan is all mine."

Lan Zhan swore his heart would give out one day, despite his stoic face, his heartbeat told a different story. However, as of late it had been tamer, and he smiled at that because his heart no-longer-needed to race in his chest. His Wei was all his.

Lan Zhan nodded, "Mn, all yours." He looked back to his brother who smiled at him knowingly. As the two continued to converse, Wei Ying began to breathe deeply.

His gut told him something had just shifted, something was off. His mind instantly went to Wen Ning since the two were linked, but... he didn't feel tragic loss and grief so he let that go for the moment, his spirits lifted, excited to see his best friend after all this time.

However, it was when Wei's head fell as if he had no hand, at that he sat up straight. Looking at his hand, his stomach dropped to see it disappearing, yes, disappearing. Slowly, it trailed from his hand to his wrist, and then forearm.

"Lan Zhan!" He yelled, his tone terrified. The two brother's head's instantly snapped over, Lan Zhan too yelled out his fiance's name as he rushed forward.

The three panicked as Wei Ying slowly disappeared, Lan Zhan's heart was hammering in his chest as he tried to think of a cause or more importantly a counter to whatever this was. He- in a panic, transferred spiritual energy and that seemed to slow it down but it wasn't exactly slow now.

Wei Ying grasped his hand before the rest of him disappeared, Lan Zhan looked over, tears starting to pool in his eyes. His Wei Ying was... dying? And he couldn't do anything. Wei Ying tried to smile but failed miserably, his tears dripped as he gently kissed each of Lan Zhan's fingers before he whispered a soft 'I love you.' which echoed in the air before he was gone completely.

Lan Zhan fell forward since the shoulder keeping him up wasn't there anymore. Hanguang-Jun couldn't breathe, time seemed to have stopped and all that he could hear was his own heartbreaking, his own sniffs and cries as his brother rushed to comfort him, but how could he?
