Wei Ying woke up the next morning to Nie Huaisang looking extremely stressed and pacing around. Wei frowned, sitting up, "Oi, Froggy what happened?" He questioned, upon hearing that Wuxian awoke Nie jumped and spun toward him.

"You're awake!" Huaisang exclaimed, Wei Ying briefly considered that Nie had fallen and bumped his head.

Staring, "Uhm, yes I am, now what's up?" He asked again, Nie Huaisang took a deep breath before sitting down rather far away.

"W-Well... it turns out neither you nor me... are strong enough to cast the spell... to go back..." He mumbled, when he finished Wei Ying froze, his heart dropped into his stomach and the arms propping himself up fell out from under him.

Wei Ying took a moment to process what this meant before sitting up again, "So.. we're stuck here?" He asked, his tone terrified.

Sorrowfully, Nie nodded.

Wei Ying swallowed his tears, "No! This is bullshit!" He yelled, standing up and storming off. Everything was too much now, they couldn't get home! Fuck!

Wei Ying ran until he couldn't anymore, collapsing at the stump of a tree, he cried. Wei Ying cried for his Lan Zhan, cried for his home, and cried in anger.

He was crying harder than he had in years, he couldn't get home! His white robes turned brown from the mud but he didn't care, he was just in agony. He was panicking to the point of hyperventilation, he couldn't breathe and that added to the panic, in a fit he started to hit the ground. Wei Ying tried to breathe but it just came out as rapid short breaths.

"F-Fuck..." He stuttered, the anxiety was getting worse the longer he was trapped alone with his thoughts and fears.

What if he could never get home? What if he never saw Lan Zhan again? What if Lan Zhan lost his mind losing him again? What-

However, it was when a hand wrapped around his waist and another on his opposite arm stabilizing him broke his train of thought.

Snapping his head up, Wei's breath almost halted for a minute. Staring back at him in concern was Second Young, Master Lan.

Lan Zhan was walking back from the Cold Spring when a faint sound made him stop. Focusing to listen, it was then he realized that it was the sound of someone struggling to breathe, they seemed to be in severe emotional distress.

Quickly, he made his way there. Rushing to the small figure dressed in white robes he clutched their waist and arm trying to stabilize them. However, when the person looked up, he was shocked to see Wei Ying.

Although, he seemed different. He looked a little older, the bags under his eyes were dark and depressing, his aura seemed weaker, yet dark and powerful, and lastly, he was thinner. I mean, really thin.

Discarding his worries, he shuffled closer to the seemingly stunned Wei Ying, for some reason, the sight of the smaller man with tears running down his cheeks hurt his soul, "Wei Ying..." He said softly, placing a hand on the other's chest, "Breathe, slowly..."

When Wei Ying recovered from his shock he looked away, more panicked than ever, yet he was so sad. It's Lan Zhan... he wanted nothing more than to jump into the other's safe arms, but he couldn't. This Lan Zhan isn't his.

Without a second thought, Wei Ying stood up and ran. He ran faster than he ever had in the past month. Lan Zhan was stunned for a moment before he began to chase him. While the chase was happening, Lan Zhan frowned at how well Wei Ying seemed to know Cloud Recess. He knew what places to turn to lose Lan Zhan quicker, he knew places not to go, and more importantly, he knew where he could fall over or where guards would be.
