The week went by as normal as it can get. First day of Christmas holiday, and here I was on my bed snacking on ice cream and stalking people online. Specifically Dylan.
When suddenly a chat box popped up.
Violet Walters; Wanna Hang?
You; Nah. I wanna chillax.
Violet Walters; Oh, c'mon. It's almost Christmas. Have some fun! :)
You; Maybe next time, Vi.
I closed the chat box, and decided to call my sister. I picked up the phone and dialed her number.
"Hello?" She answered, "Hi snot-ball. Are you coming home for Christmas?" I asked her, "We miss you so much."
"Yeah, of course. I wouldn't miss if for the world." She replied, "I'll be home before you know it." I giggled.
We talked about how we've been for the pass few months and updated each other with our lives basically. Then we eventually hung up.
I continued on my laptop, when I heard a knock on my door. "Honey, dinner's almost ready." My mom exclaimed, "You get ready as well. We have guests coming." She seemed very excited.
I took a quick shower, dried my hair and put on some "Guest appropriate" clothes. If that makes any sense. Then I head downstairs.
"Mom" I called out, "What kind of guests anyway?" "It's my workmate's family." She replied excitedly. "I invited them for dinner since she's having another baby soon and I would like to cook for them." I nodded and smiled at her.
"Honey, dress properly." she turned back to me. My smile faded, "Isn't this proper enough?" I groaned.
She looked at me furiously, making me guilty. "Fine." I said as I go back to my room to find a new outfit.
I ended up wearing a blue cocktail dress and threw on a black cardigan. I went back downstairs to get my mother's approval of my outfit. I stood before her, and she observed me from head to toe.
"Now that's more like it."
The doorbell rang, and my mom told me to check for last minute set ups for the dining table. While she checked on the door, I settled some glasses on the table. After that, I leaned my head to the side to this family she kept blabbering about.
A pregnant woman steeped in, then a tall man after her. I bet he's her husband. Then while my mom greets the husband, another person was standing behind him. It seemed to be a head of another guy.
"Skar, call your father and come over here." My mom called out, "They're here, and I want you to meet them."
I called my dad from our back yard and went with him to the front door.
My mom smiled as we arrived there. "Sweetie, meet Mrs. Evans."
Evans.. that's an oddly familiar name.
I smiled and shook the beautiful pregnant lady's hand.
"And this is Mr. Evans." My mom said sweetly and I did the same gesture to him.
Evans...
Then it came to me. Dylan. Dylan Evans. Oh no..
I was hoping they were different Evans. Like, just a coincidence or something. But then my mom started saying something.
"And this is their son.."
My heart stopped suddenly as Mr. Evans moved aside to let his son walk pass.
His was using his phone, so his head was down. But suddenly, he put his phone in his pocket and little by little, he tilted his head up to face all of us.
"Dylan Evans."
