Lorenzo's POV

"Y-y- you're h-hurting me..." she stuttered, fear in her icy blue eyes. Shit.

I instantly let go of her wrist. I didn't mean to hurt her I just got so mad... I can't deal with this right now. Without saying anything to her I storm into the elevator and decide to go let out my anger somewhere else. If I remember correctly we have a stubborn rat in the basement that we need information out of.

I take the elevator down to the basement of the hotel. Only my trusted people have access down here. I quickly texted one of my best friends, Elijah who had been sorting papers in my home office, to come out and escort the girl to her room.

Luca is waiting for me by the cells in the basement, I had texted him that I was coming down. "Which cell?" I ask, he tells me which cell and I set out down the aisle.  "Hello again Adam," I say to the man strapped to a chair in the middle of one of my cells. "I have heard from my men that you have been..." I pause my words and hold up a polished knife, "very stubborn," I smirk at him.

He responds with nothing but silence. "Unfortunately for you, my patience has been tested all day, and I am in no mood for that right now."

———

"Anything yet?" Luca shouts from down the hall, which echoes to me. I slam the cell door shut with anger and make my way down the hall to Luca. "Get someone to clean that up." I tell him, taking off my blood soaked button up shirt and tossing it into a trash can. "You need to control your anger sometimes Enzo-" he started speaking but when his eyes met mine he knew it was better to keep quiet. "He wasn't going to give up any information." I tell Luca.

My phone that was sitting on the table started to ring, I was curious as to who would be calling me. I glance over to see Elijah's name on the screen. "I swear if this bitch tried to pull anything..." I picked up the phone, "What's up?"

"Just letting you know I got Lawrence's daughter settled in, I tried telling you earlier but you didn't pick up."

"How long has she been there alone?" I asked him.

"Probably around 45 minutes. I don't think she looked stupid enough to try anything." He tried to assure me but I don't trust this girl. I see it in her eyes that she is hiding something. Not bothering to say goodbye to Elijah, I hang up the phone and slip it into my pocket. "Time to go babysit." I sarcastically say to Luca, and wave goodbye before stepping into a private elevator.

The elevator stopped at the lobby which meant I had to travel across the lobby to get to the elevator leading to my penthouse.

After about a 8 minute journey, a ding indicated I was at the top floor. When the doors slid open I smelled... chocolate?

I stepped out of the elevator and saw the girl on the couch watching CNN news on the TV. When she heard the ding she turned, probably thinking whatever she was baking was done. Her eyes were full of curiosity and wonder from watching TV, but quickly changed to cold and closed off when she saw it was me. Lawrence's daughter is actually interested in what's happening in the world? I'm shocked.

My eyes looked to my left to see a very messy kitchen. "Did whatever you are making explode?" I snap at her. She jumps off the couch and walks over to the kitchen. The setting sun beams through the window and paints an array of reds, oranges, and yellows across her face while she walks. Damn.

"Brownies." She tells me while she picks up a dirty bowl and places it in the sink. I watch as she opens each cabinet in search of something. "Do you have any dish soap?" She asks me while on her tippy toes searching a high cabinet. She looked... cute.. "Yes, in the highest place in the kitchen we keep our dish soap." "I didn't ask if you had sarcasm." She hisses at me. Rolling my eyes, I walk over and open a low cabinet she hadn't searched yet, and pull out an unopened Dove dish soap bottle. She turns to me and plucks it out of my hand. "You know we have a maid." I tell her.

"You know I am capable of doing things myself. Plus I didn't want to be an inconvenience to anyone." She turns her back to me and starts scrubbing the bowl clean. The oven dings and I tell her I will take the brownies out. They looked amazing but I would never tell her that. "You are lucky I am a nice person or I probably wouldn't share my brownies with you." She is still scrubbing away at the bowl, until it is completely clean. Maybe I can sit and chat with her, and possibly get some information about Lawrence. She dries the bowl and places it neatly into one of the drawers. "I don't think you understand my authority over you- "Uh huh you the big bad boss man and I have to do as you tell me."

I felt anger rising in my at how she was speaking to me. "Now sit your ass down and let me cut you a brownie. It's my moms recipe, and absolutely delicious. I was a bit nervous because I had to substitute things due to your lack of groceries but I think it turned out good." I don't know why but I listened to her and sat down on the bar stool across the counter. Why am I allowing her to order me around?

She slipped a brownie onto a plate and slid it across the counter to me. "I take it you like treats like this." She says while sitting down next to me with her own plate and a brownie. "What makes you think that?"

"Your mom made cinnamon rolls for me earlier and it seemed like she was a really good baker. I just assumed she bakes things like that often."  "She owned a bakery before she met my father." I said and her eyes practically lit up. "No way!" She beamed, "I used to work at a baker but I've always dreamed of opening up my own one!"

I tried to hide my shocked face at her words. America's most infamous Daddy's girl had a job. I was very curious... "You used to?" I questioned her, "One night a gang trashed the whole thing. It was a really small bakery and couldn't come back from something like that." I didn't know what to say to her. "Why do you work? You have everything a girl could dream of and more."

When I said that her eyes averted away from me and went to the floor. "My fathers money is not my money" she responds after a few seconds, and looks back up but not meeting my eyes like before. "So did you just stop working after the bakery?"  I was intrigued to say the least.

"What is this twenty questions?" She obviously didn't want to talk about her personal life, but I wanted to know so I was going to get her to tell me. She looked me in my eyes and probably saw that I wasn't going to let this go without answers. "I got a job at a bar across town."

"And your father is aware of this?" She shakes her head.

Interesting...

We sit in silence for a little until I decide to get more information out of her. Maybe something she knows can help me take down her father and his whole mafia. "Do you have any siblings?" I ask trying to sound interested. Her eyes look busy, like her mind knows I'm up to something.

"What's with the interrogation" she stands up, probably piecing together what I was up to. Then I look in her eyes and see something click. "God I really thought we were just sitting, talking, and enjoying ourselves! I'm so stupid! You really are an asshole." She raises her voice yet is speaking coldly at the same time.

"Who do you think you are talking to!" I shout her her, standing up and looking down at her. "Enjoy the brownies asshole, and don't talk to me again." She runs off, I can't find the strength to stop her.

Damn I'm becoming a softy.

I'm sitting pretty much alone in my penthouse. The sun has gone down. I need a way to release my anger and stress so I do what any man would do.

I leave my penthouse and head to one of my clubs.
