Mavery's POV:
The past couple of days have been super calm.
Lorenzo barely lets me out of bed because 'I need to heal'. This is a little funny considering I've been through worse and have been just fine.
Lorenzo has come and visited me a lot, and we have kissed a few more times. He has been really sweet and has brought me food every day. It was a little annoying because he would force me to eat a lot even if I was full, but I knew it was unhealthy how little I was eating, and he was trying to help.
I haven't been working the past few days and he hasn't even brought up when I will return to work, so that is just a bit concerning. I have worked for him for probably a month now, and have barely dented the debt to my father. Is it wrong that I don't care? I actually enjoy working here, being away from my father and Kathy, and actually being around someone who cares about me.
My bruises have started to turn from a deep purple to more of a light color, so those are pretty much healed. I really don't understand why he is babying me so much.
I pushed my feet to the side of the bed and jumped off, wincing a little from the pain. I know Lorenzo would scold me for getting out of bed, but I needed to do something. I was going to make a nice dinner for when Lorenzo gets home from work. It was about 7:00 PM so I had a good hour before he would get home at 8.
I got to work, making one of my mom's favorite dishes; lasagna. I know he loves pasta, so I figure he would like this too. I'm just hoping he won't be too mad at me for being up and doing things.
————————
"And done!" I said aloud as I placed two plates of lasagna on the dining table. I had set up silver wear and napkins too. It looks pretty good if I do say so myself.
It was 7:56 so he should be home any minute. I excitedly ran and combed my hair really fast, and washed my face that had gotten dirty from my sloppy cooking.
After that, I decided to sit on the couch and wait for him to be home.
———————
Hours passed, and there was still no sign of him.
I knew if he was working late, he would have told me. He always tells me.
What if something happened to him?!
I was getting very worried, but I knew there was nothing I could do. Earlier I had called him, probably around 9, but he didn't answer. I didn't have anyone else's number, and leaving the penthouse wasn't an option, so all I could do is wait.
At around 8:30 I had put the food in the microwave to keep it warm, which kind of ruined my amazing dinner set up but it's ok.
I was starting to get hungry as the clock rolled around to 1AM.
I continued to wait on the couch, my eyes were getting harder and harder to keep open, but I had to wait.
After probably another thirty minutes, the elevator dings and I practically shot up from the couch and ran over to the kitchen where he would walk in. I was so happy he was ok, and we could eat and maybe even cuddle before bed!
What I didn't expect to see when the elevator doors slid open, was Lorenzo making out with a girl who looked to be a stripper.
Lorenzo's POV:
This morning when I left for work, I made sure to leave a coffee on Mavery's bedside table, just how she likes it.
I didn't want her getting out of bed, especially when I wasn't home, so I also made her scrambled eggs to go with her coffee.
