The final bell rung and you hurriedly stuffed your already filled backpack with a stack of papers and your pen case. Before you knew it, Hinata had popped his head inside the door and walked briskly over to your seat. Kageyama following close behind him."Hii (f/n), me and Kags will walk you to the gym to talk to Kiyoko. Then we're gonna go change for practice."
"Thanks a bunch!"
You quickly grab your things and run with Hinata to catch up with Kageyama who had already started without us. As we walked to the gym, mostly you and Hinata were rambling off about different stories of volleyball. Kageyama seemed a little intrigued as he soon found out that you played club volleyball.
"I know that (country) has a different ranking system than Japan, but at what level did you play at? And what position?" Kageyama sort of shouted at you intently. Fueled by a slight superiority complex, you perked up and let a little of a grin slip from your mouth before you responded.
"Oh, um.. I mean my team and I were pretty good among our age group. We won state and barely made it to the semi-finals of Nationals for our age group. Our team was like super stacked with defense so that's why we ranked pretty well. Oh, and I'm a libero."
"Ah! Just like Noya-senpai! You must be good then!"
"Nah, I don't think I'm that good. I think I just worked myself really hard and I eventually became mediocre," you say humbly but smugly.
"Well, you should show us sometime. But we gotta go. Kiyoko should be inside the gym."
Kageyama hurried off carying Hinata by the collar. Hinata vigorously waving at you with a huge smile wiped on his face. You shook your head with a muffled smile and slowly stepped in the gym.
The faint echo of squeaking shoes grew three times as loud as you finally entered the gym. The satisfying smell of polished wood and volleyballs ventured into your curious nose. Taking a second to process everything you were witnessing, you felt a sudden aura of freshness and beauty overtake the air. You look up to see a figure with shiny, black hair and glasses which give off a stunning nerd kind of vibe. You were totally engrossed in her beauty.
"Ah. You must be (y/n). Hinata told me about you at the beginning of lunch. If I'm not mistaken, you were interested in being team manager correct?"
"Oh- I was just going to watch," you started to explain before Kiyoko obviously wasn't quite listening to you. She was a little excited about the fact that someone was actually interested in this position and you could tell by the slight glimmer in her eyes.
"Okay good, do you have any experience or knowledge of volleyball? Not that it's needed, it would just definitely be helpful," Kiyoko started rambling on, and you couldn't stop her so you mentally gave in to the fact that you were going to be the assistant team manager of the Karasuno boys' volleyball team.
"Oh um. I played club volleyball back in (country). I played libero, and I guess I know a lot about volleyball more or less."
"Well, that makes it easier. Here let me show you some basic information about the boys," Kiyoko says whilst pulling out a small, minimalist notebook.
================================================================================Meanwhile, some of the boys had taken notice to you.
"Who's that over there, Daichi?" Nishinoya curiously questioned nodding towards you.
"Oh, Suga, look. It's the same (gender) that Hinata was showing around. What're they doing here?"
"Oh yeah. We could ask Hinata who they- wait, where is Hinata? And Kageyama?" Suga said starting to look around for an orange fluffball and his black-haired friend.
