The beginning

Just in case you wanna know, Cat is 4 in this, and the rest of the gang are 5 or 6. (also she hasn't dyed her hair yet, so it's still brown, and her brother is not insane).

4 year old Cat Valentine jumped up and down as she dragged her older brother Frankie enthusiastically towards the gates of school, chatting excitedly nonstop. The tiny girl had been preparing for this day for ages, and to say she was over the moon was an understatement. He couldn't believe that the kid he had known since birth was growing up so quickly before his eyes! In another 15 years, she would be stepping out into the world, a young adult!

Her teacher was called Mrs Rowland, and she instructed all the eager youngsters to sit in a circle and introduce themselves and what they wanted to do when they were older. First up, was a shy looking girl.

"I'm Leigh Anne, and when I grow up I wanna be a singer with my friends Perrie, Jade and Jesy" she mumbled, gesturing towards 3 other girls. The girl named Perrie piped up as well,
"Yeah we are, we even have a name already, Rhythmix in the house!"

Slowly but surely, they made it around the circle, before finally, it was Cat's turn.
"Hi, my name's Catarina, but I like to be called Cat. I don't really know what I want to be when I grow up, but I want to dye my hair red like my red velvet cupcakes!"

After all the introductions were made, Cat spent the rest of the lesson drawing, her head in the clouds. 

Recess rolled around, and Cat stood awkwardly in the hallway, not knowing where to go. For the first time since entering the school, she felt kinda overwhelmed, with older students running around everywhere. To her relief, out of the corner of her eye, she saw a bunch of kids her age, whom she recognised from the introductions earlier, and hastily headed over. Plonking herself down on an empty seat, she smiled gratefully at them.
"It's Cat, right?" one of the boys asked.
"Umm...yeah, and you're Beck?"
"Yup, and this is Robbie and Andre!" Beck replied, gesturing at the other two boys.

Tucking into her lunch, she started chatting with them. Before long, it seemed that they had known each other forever. They learnt that Cat and Robbie both had an older brother, they all loved to sing, Andre could beatbox and play the guitar and piano and Beck loved to act. Laughing together for no reason, Cat knew that she had found life long friends.

As she walked towards her bag, putting her lunchbox back into it, there was the sound of a commotion around the corner. Peeking around, she saw a young girl, dressed in all black, furiously jumping up and down as she tried to snatch a sandwich back from two older boys, who were relentlessly mocking her.
"Listen to her, she thinks she sounds so tough"
"Hey!" Cat popped up, scaring the duo, though they tried to conceal it.
"You should give that back! Stealing isn't nice and its mean!"
"What are you gonna do about?" sneered the boys. "Here, take it." they chucked it at the other young girl.
"I'm Cat!!!!" Cat tried to introduce herself.
"I could've handled that by myself you know!" the other girl shot back.
Nonetheless, Cat persisted. "You're Jade?" she asked, reading off the nametag.
Despite not getting a response, she continued. "Come on, eat your lunch with me!" she laughed, grabbing Jade by the hand.

Jade tensed up, ready to wriggle her hand out of the right grip of Cat, but one look at the adorable perky brunette made her reconsider. She really didn't want to make Cat cry, so she internally sighed and let the younger girl drag her off to Andre, Beck and Robbie.

As many would say, the rest was history.

Welp, ik I'm a little bit late posting this. Its currently 12:26 am please help me. Sleep no longer exists in my world, but at least it's the school hols so I can sleep in a bit. Also, the biggest happy birthday to Ari!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe she's actually 27 now!🖤 Lastly, thank you so much for reading (and voting) in this!!!!! Its almost at 800 views!!!!!!!! I believe that I also have figured out an updating schedule, every 2 weeks there shall (hopefully) be a new chapter up :)
