— TUESDAY, JULY 9.
SILENCE filled the car ride on your way to college. it was uncomfortable, to say the least, but you had no confidence to speak up and suddenly talk to a man you barely know. that man was the driver in front of another beautiful lamborghini car. he was floch's personal driver, a man in his forties named nile. he wasn't talkative unlike you, who started to talk about your classes when he clearly didn't ask for it. you were only left with silence and awkwardness, the man barely speaking once the ride started. you couldn't exactly complain because, after all, he was just doing his job and speaking to you about personal matters wasn't a thing he was going to do.
you sighed and shifted in your seat, playing with the hem of your turtleneck shirt with a slight frown. you gazed out of the window and admired the beauty of the sunset; mixes of yellow, pink, and blue greeting you as the sun slowly rose from the horizon. it was around six in the morning, two hours before your class starts.
after floch had told you (more like forced you) to live in his penthouse, the day turned a bit messy with the ginger arguing with you every time you tell him that you didn't need to. he had given you two reasons as to why you should move despite your complaints. the first one being: your apartment complex was too small and shitty. sure, it looked kind of old but it was still working and cheap. where else was a young, broke college student supposed to go?
the last reason was that you deserved the best, as you were now 'under his care' if that made sense. if you were being honest, the first reason was the only thing that you could only nod at. yet, you were still a bit unsure of his idea because he has given you too much already. and it was only the second day!
actually, he didn't even give you a choice, he just made it an order that you couldn't deny. so by yesterday night, you already had all of your things inside the penthouse after talking to your landlord. the night job you were supposed to take that day? it was now a distant memory after taking your resignation.
yesterday was actually the first time you got to sleep like a baby, and if it weren't for your alarm, you probably would've slept in and skip another day of college.
you felt fresher than ever.
even if the ginger had told you to quit your job(s), you decided to stay at the cafe you were working on without the ginger knowing. you didn't want to completely rely on floch, it would look like you really needed help after those months of struggling. though you're thankful for his generous help, you still needed to work for yourself.
now starting today, nile was going to drive you to your campus as per floch's orders, considering that his penthouse was a bit far away from where you were studying. at least someone's driving me there now...? you told yourself, hoping that it would relieve some of your uncertainties about... well, everything.
