— FRIDAY, AUGUST 18.
YOU glanced at the wall clock impatiently, wishing for the minutes to go by faster. you fought well with battling sleep throughout your last class but one more second of listening to your professor's voice and you'd go insane and just admit defeat by falling asleep without any care.
two more minutes... you thought bitterly, biting back a sigh as you turn your attention to your open notebook filled with doodles and scribbles. you were desperate to get home, possibly finish your article, and just fall asleep early until tomorrow morning where you'd start your shift at the cafe. luckily, your friends had other plans today despite being a friday thus leaving you free for the remaining day.
scratch 'free', you had a date with your work and sleep.
finally, after what seemed to be eternity, the professor dismissed you all with a gentle smile. you fixed your things and placed them inside your bag, passing by the other students to which you bid goodbye with a smile or a nod.
grabbing your phone from your pocket, you saw nile's daily text that he was already waiting for you outside. it surprised you how consistent he was in showing up on time; every message he sent was five minutes before your dismissal. not even a second late, and you find it admirable.
within minutes, you were being escorted back to home by nile. like any other day, the air between the two of you were calming and silent. it changed drastically over the weeks, when the first two weeks were awkward after you attempted to converse with him. now, there seemed to be a mutual respect lingering in the air and you couldn't help but feel contented that the awkward air had passed.
soon enough, you reached the apartment building. you thank nile once again and stepped inside the lobby, greeting the guard with a smile when he opened the glass door for you.
you made your way to the elevator but was soon stopped by the receptionist behind the desk. "miss y/n, sir floch is currently in your apartment. he said that i should let you know when you got home." she informed sweetly, matched with a diamond smile.
"oh... thank you."
you hid the look of confusion as you stepped inside the elevator, grabbing your phone to check if there were any messages from the ginger to indicate that he would be visiting you. there were none. your last conversation was thursday morning when he dissed thr breakfast that you cooked (he still ate it anyway). now you were left with more questions you couldn't even answer. why the hell is he here, again? without warning me? what does he want now?
such questions caused your eyebrows to furrow and you groaned, shaking your head solemnly. this was the second time the ginger showed up unannounced, and it was beginning to annoy you. it wasn't that hard to text someone!
