The diner wasn't as crowded as Adam thought it would be. He, Aurora, Brielle and David sat in a booth waiting for their food. The kids were drawing and Adam was talking to Brielle.
"So where are you from?" Adam asked Brielle
"I'm from Washington D. C. I decided to move to a small town so I can get away from the crowdedness from the city," Brielle replied, "and my husband left me five years ago..." Brielle stopped and her face grew hot, "I'm sorry. I don't know why I said that."

Adam smiled nicely.
"Don't worry about it. It's fine," Adam said, "my wife left me last night. We fought and...well this isn't the place to talk about it. Maybe I'll tell you if you want to come over to my place after I show you around town."
He watched Brielle as she thought about it. A few seconds later she smiled and she said,
"Sure."
Adam looked at the ground and he scratched the back of his neck nervously. Why am I so awkward around pretty girls? He thought to himself as they waited the rest of the time in silence.

Twenty minuets later their food came and they started eating. Aurora watched her father who was talking with Miss. Brielle. He was smiling and he looked like he was having a good time from her perspective. She took a sip of her chocolate milk and she tapped her dads arm. He looked at her.
"Daddy I need to go potty," she told him as she started bouncing up and down.
"Okay," he replied, "well if I take you you'll have to go into the men's restroom since I can't go in the ladies."
Aurora frowned and she continued bouncing in her seat. She started complaining and they ignored her.

Brielle looked at Aurora who had stopped complaining and bouncing.
"Aurora do you still need to go potty?" Brielle asked.
Aurora looked at her. "No."
Brielle saw Adam look at his daughter.
"Did you wet yourself?" He asked
Aurora looked at him and she shook her head 'yes' and she giggled. Brielle heard Adam sigh.
"Aurora this is not a laughing matter. You know better!" Adam said sternly.
Aurora frowned and she looked away form her dad.
"I'm sorry, daddy" she said quietly.

Adam glanced at his daughter who was silently crying. Why is she crying? He wondered.
"Aurora? Why are you crying, sweetie?" Adam asked.
His daughter looked at him.
"Why did mommy leave last night?"
Adam was hesitant to answer as he glanced at Brielle who was looking at a picture that David was showing her. He looked back at Aurora and said,
"I can't tell you now, sweetie. Not here anyway."

He saw Aurora's facial expression go from a frown to an angry glare and a scowl. She stood up and she faced Adam.
"But I wanna know now!" She whined
Before Adam could answer, Aurora burst into tears and she started screaming. Adam looked around the diner and saw everyone staring at him. Blood rushed to his cheeks as he looked back at his daughter.
"Shh. Aurora listen to me," Adam said, "I'll tell you why later okay? You-"
Adam was cut off when his daughter screamed,
"Shut up!!!"

Then she climbed over him, got down from the seat and she ran out of the diner crying. Adam propped his elbows up on the table and he held his head in his hands. A mix of emotions ran through him as he tried to think what he did wrong. He was to overwhelmed to think of a reason and he looked up just as a waitress came to the table with a bill. Adam took it and paid the amount in cash. After that, he got up and he stormed out of the diner leaving Brielle and David behind. He stood looking around then he headed left to look for his daughter.
