While Aurora sat in the den playing with David, she realized her dad and David's mom have been downstairs for a good hour or two. She looked at David.
"David should we go see what our parents are doing?" She asked
David looked up from the building he was making with blocks.
"Sure," David replied.
Then the two got up and they headed down the stairs towards the recording studio.

The two children opened the door to Adam's recording studio and they went in. It was dark in the room except from the light from the computer screen. The two walked towards the computer since Aurora knows her dad has a couch. The closer they got, Aurora heard her father and Brielle....laughing softly? She peered around the couch and she looked at the ground. Aurora saw clothes on the floor. That confused her. "What could they be doing that would require their clothes to be off?" She wondered as she and David walked in front of the couch. Adam and Brielle were kissing and the other thing the children saw was a permanent image in their brains.

Aurora and David stood staring at their parents while they were doing adult things children shouldn't see. Aurora tried to speak but her voice wouldn't work. David on the other hand, took action and he threw a pen at the adults. That got their attention. Adam looked to his right and he immediately got off of Brielle. The two of them covered themselves with blankets as Adam stared at the kids well just Aurora. David went to look at the guitars. Adrenaline was still surging through Adam.
"H-how long have you two been standing there?" Adam asked breathlessly.
His daughter looked at him with shock.
"The whole time," she replied.
"Okay," Adam heard Brielle say, "do you two know what we were doing?"

Adam stared at Brielle with his mouth hung open. He didn't want his daughter to know about that now! She's just a child!
"Brielle-"
"Daddy I know what you did," his daughter said.
He glanced at her. His heart was pounding in his chest.
"Y-you do?"
Aurora nodded her head confidently and she said, "you're replacing mommy! It's only been a day since she's been gone!"

A wave of relief washed over Adam. He was glad she didn't know about sex yet. Though, it was true that it has only been a day since AnnMarie left. Then his daughter started yelling at him again. He ignored his daughter's screams and shouting and he got dressed. Once he was dressed, he decided to listen to his daughter when she said a cuss word. That's when he grew angry. He rushed over to her. Adam saw the anger from his daughters face turn to fear.
"What did you just say to me?" He asked angrily
She repeated the word with confidence in her voice. Adam glared at his daughter.
"So you think you're a big girl now, huh? Using swear words and...and watching people do 'it'?" He said. Aurora nodded her head. Adam grabbed her and he continued,"Well if you say you're a big girl then you can handle what really happened between your mother and I-"

"Adam that's probably not a good idea," Brielle said.
He looked at her. She was dressed and she held David. Adam looked back at Aurora.
"Your mother fell in love with another man in California. She never loved you. Or me. We fought about her wanting a divorce but I still loved her-"
Aurora cut him off, "but if you still loved her then why-"
"Shut up and listen," Adam said, "anyways. Your mother wanted a divorce. Now i wish I would've signed the paper. Seeing how I feel in love with Brielle."
Aurora stared at her dad with tears in her eyes. She looked into her dad's eyes. Instead of seeing love and compassion like she normally does, she saw anger and hatred. Aurora opened her mouth to speak but her dad slapped her. Then she burst into tears as he hit her again. This wasn't like her dad.

Then Aurora got out of her dad's grasp and she screamed
"I HATE YOU!"
Next she ran out of the room crying. Whatever love her father saw in Brielle has changed him over the past twenty-four hours. Aurora raced up the stairs and she said went up another set of stairs to go to her dad's bedroom. Aurora ignored the clutter and ran to Adam's desk where he kept his Macbook. Aurora opened it and she went to the FaceTime app. She found her mom's name and she clicked it. Aurora waited and a few minuets later and her mom answered.
"Hey sweetie," her mom said, "why are you crying?"
"Daddy hit me!!" Aurora replied
"What?! Why?"
Aurora cried harder as she told her mom everything. When she finished, AnnMarie was speechless and her daughter said,
"I want you to come home!"
