Haewon was at the dinner table eating together with the supposed mafia members, she sat on the seat opposite of Jisung as the rest were all chatting jovially while the two stayed quiet.
She awkwardly ate her food as they laughed together while Jisung ate too without a care.
Haewon snuck a glance at Jisung every few seconds watching as his expression was relaxed and softer than before despite his face still being straight and emotionless, listening to his friend's bickering.
The constant bickering was the only sound that filled the air, allowing Haewon to enjoy the light hearted atmosphere of how close they were despite them having such a murderous job.
" Jisung! You're putting Haewon to bed! hehe." Chenle exclaimed before his dolphin laugh erupted as he ran away, leaving his empty plate on the table as the rest of the boys followed, leaving the girl and Jisung behind, awkwardly sitting in silence.
Once Haewon was done eating, he took the plates and started to wash them while she just sat there and stared.
Haewon scrutinised the boy, watching as he concentrated of washing the dishes. His tongue moistening his lips as he washed.
Upon examining him closely, she realised how good-looking he really was. His dirty red coloured hair, with his bangs covering his eyes. He had small eyes that almost looked like they were closed, and together with his slightly puffed out cheeks, it made Haewon want to pinch them.
" Staring is rude you know?" he spoke, finishing the last plate before turning around, making Haewon snap out of her daze, looking back up at his face who held that usual apathetic gaze.
" I wasn't staring." she coughed out, shaking her head in denial before following behind him as he walked away to bring her to the guest room.
The room was big, a king sized bed with a sweet fragrance that filtered the air, calming down her senses.
" Okay this is your room, goodnight." he bluntly spoke once Haewon laid on the bed as he turned off the lights from the switch beside the bed, about to walk away but she held onto his wrist.
" W-wait." Haewon stuttered out, being scared of the dark, shuddering at the thought of sleeping in complete darkness as a cold breeze blew at her.
" What?" Jisung groaned, slightly annoyed as he looked down at the girl as she bit her lips while her hands shook in fear.
" I-i'm scared of the d-dark." Haewon spoke shakily, as he just looked at her with one of those are-you-kidding-me expression.
" Oh so i'm suppose to sleep beside you? Make you feel better? In your dreams." he spat, before walking away and closing the door, leaving her alone in the huge but dark and creepy room.
The room being huge and the bed being big didn't help at all, only engulfing her in more fear, making her breath turn unsteady as tears pricked at her eyes, threatening to spill out.
Haewon felt the cold air blowing against her back as she laid at her side making her shiver in fear.
It was like someone was watching her from behind, the cold wind blowing against her felt as if it was someone breathing against her neck, like they were going to attack any second.
Fear gobbled Haewon up as she covered herself with the blanket, giving her some sense of security despite being in a pitch black room.
Soon, Haewon heard the door creak open, peeking out of the blanket to look at the floor to see light, the thought of someone pouncing in her only brought her fears to life.
Haewon desperately tugged her blankets over her head again, squeezing her eyes shut as her goosebumps shot up.
" Hey, are you okay? You're shaking a lot." Haewon heard a familiar voice say making her peek out wearily only to see Chenle, allowing her to relax and heave out a sigh of relief.
" I-i'm just scared of the dark..." she mumbled, audible enough for him to hear.
" Ah...no wonder Jisung told me to come and accompany you, that's weird though." he spoke, as he closed the door, inviting himself onto the spot beside her.
" What do you mean weird?" Haewon asked, finding comfort from the presence of the so far nice boy.
" I think you're changing him, he had never ever listened to anyone's requests before, he looked a lot more calm when you're there, I don't know how you do it but you definitely have an effect on him, I, Chenle the dolphin don't lie and I can see through him, i'm his best friend." He spoke proudly, pointing to himself despite being unable to see him in the dark.
" Tsk, just go to sleep." Haewon said as she playfully rolled her eyes, moving her body to face the other side as Chenle did the same.
" hehe fine." he said, giggling.
" Goodnight, Chenle." she muttered quietly, as she closed her eyes, slowlydozing off.
" Goodnight Haewon, I really hope that you can get Jisung out of his lonely shell."
