In which Shikamaru is the god of clouds, and the goddess of the wind is sick of doing his job. (Because we all need more Shikatema in our lives). 

(Also peep the most mind blowing moment in all of Naruto hands down) ^^^^

If there was one thing better than watching the clouds, it was laying on them. That was Shikamaru's philosophy. And as the god of these water masses, he had that luxury. He enjoyed sitting on the pillowy substance as it slowly grew smaller, and as the rain slowly depleted into the valley below him, washing the villagers in a heavenly shower. For eons, he had laid out and enjoyed the relaxing feeling, and he planned to spend the rest of his immortal life doing the same.

On one such day of relaxation, Shikamaru was abruptly removed from his element of peace when he felt his cloud move. Now, the clouds were always moving. That was not the issue. But on this day, the clouds were moving rather swiftly, and this bothered Shikamaru, because only he was supposed to move the clouds that he enjoyed sitting on so much.

He inwardly groaned, because he knew what wretched goddess was behind the interruption of his slumber.

"Shikamaru, get your lazy ass up! Heavens above, you should be the god of sleep instead."

Shikamaru sighed and opened his eyes to a mess of blonde hair and golden skin, with green eyes that sparkled like the stars she flew through. "I am also the god of sleep, actually." He finally pointed out.

Temari whacked him in the head with her giant fan, which was normally used for manipulating the wind, but occasionally for hitting lazy gods. "Yeah yeah, whatever." She replied. "But anyway, do you realize it's been raining for five days!? Five days?! The valley will flood if you keep the clouds over there anymore!" She exclaimed. "Not to mention, Ino will have your head if those flowers die."

Shikamaru groaned at the prospect of dealing with another troublesome woman. "But it's summer, Temari. They need clouds to cool them off."

She rolled her eyes. "Clouds are fine. But do you have to make it thunderstorm for an entire week?"

"Hey. They should be thankful. That lake would dry out if it weren't for me!" Shikamaru sat up and looked around at his surroundings. "Wait a second, where did you move me?"

She smirked. "Heh. Just a couple hundred miles outside of the mountain range."

"What?"

"Sorry." She shrugged. "Tsunade's orders. Didn't have a choice."

Shikamaru narrowed his eyes in suspicion. He knew for a fact that Temari only took him this far out of the city because she liked to torment him. Tch. Troublesome woman.

Temari smirked arrogantly and began flying away. "Do your own job next time lazy ass, I've got sailboats to move."

Shikamaru shook his head, unable to contain the grin on his face. "Dinner later?" He called out to her.

"Only if you're buying!" She yelled back over her shoulder.

"Tch. Troublesome woman." He muttered. "We're gods. We eat for free."
