How to Court a Man

Thank you so much for the request! As always, ask and you shall receive! This one shot was really fun to write! I hope you all enjoy the many plights of one Matsuri, one Gaara, and many "helpful" advisors. Featuring a really cheesy conclusion. :)

Day 1

"Temari, I swear to every kage that has ever lived that your brother must be gay."

Temari sipped on her tea and chuckled lightly, for it was not the first time that someone had interrogated her on the matter. "Gaara?" She clarified.

Matsuri nodded solemnly. For years, the oblivious Kazekage had missed her obvious signs of interest. She would have taken the hint, if it weren't for the fact that seemingly every girl in Sunakagure felt the same way. There could be no other explanation, right?

"Well he's not." Temari stated boldly. "Trust me. I have found some..... interesting things in his room that would suggest otherwise. Although those could have been Kankuro's now that I think about it...."

Matsuri pondered this possibility in her head, and she hoped that what Temari was saying was true. About his sexuality, of course. Not the other thing.

"Ok then," She started. "Then how do you..... court a man..... for lack of better words, because my methods clearly don't seem to be working."

Temari boldly cracked her knuckles and smirked arrogantly. It seemed that she had been waiting for this moment all her life. "Well, you have to be rough with him. Show him you're the boss, and never let him make decisions for you. You have–" She paused and stared at Matsuri expectantly. "Um, shouldn't you be writing this down?"

"Oh!" Matsuri quickly took out a pencil and pad from who knows where and began furiously scribbling down notes, nodding for Temari to continue.

Temari smiled and started up again. "Okay then. You have to correct him, show intelligence, but not too much, they like to think that they're right some of the time, but enough to where they know you're way smarter than he is."

Matsuri gulped. She wasn't quite sure that she was smarter than the Kazekage, nor had any authority to, in any means, boss him around, but she nodded anyways. "And, all of this will get him to fall for me?"

Temari smiled triumphantly. "Oh yeah. Worked like a charm for Shikamaru. You have to be more assertive, Matsuri! Dominate him! In every sense of the word!"

Well, Matsuri presumed she knew a little too much about Temari's relationship with Shikamaru....but chose to toss that aside. She supposed Shikamaru was somewhat similar to Lord Gaara, being an intelligent quiet type. It made sense that someone needed to be the assertive one in the relationship.

Matsuri thanked Temari and began walking toward Gaara's office (which, as his secretary, was also her own). By then it was just past noon, so she figured the Kazekage could use some lunch, making now the perfect time to try out her new personality. She knocked on the door and rearranged her outfit to make herself look more presentable.

She heard a deep yet soft voice speaking on the other side. "Come in."

Matsuri tried to hide her deepening blush. Lord Almighty, all Gaara had to do was say two words and she was already weak in the knees! How could she manage being so assertive like Temari, if she was trembling already?
