"So, tell me, what's happening with Cal?" Mum smiled.
"Nothing is happening with Calum mum. He's merely a friend." I smiled, sipping on tea.
"I don't think so." Mum smirked.
I looked at her, shaking my head and sipping tea. I was probably fooling myself. When I see Calum, my heart flutters like no tomorrow but he has a girlfriend and if he broke up with her, for me (which I doubt he'd do anyway) then she would break me. And I don't want to be broken.
"You should see the way he looks at you." Mum smiled into her tea.
"He looks at me like any friend would."
"What is with you and pushing people away?"
I stared at her for a moment, my hands tightening around my mug. I don't know. I don't like being close to people. People will always leave. And I can't have my heart broken like that.
"People will leave mum, people will always leave." I murmured.
"Not everyone." Mum spoke.
"Well, most people."
"Don't be so pessimistic." She tutted "Calum adores the ground you walk on."
"Just stop mum. He's only going to break my heart."
