Chapter 1: Mall
Lea P.O.V.
"C'mon Lea! It's been three months already, can't you stop being so depressed and get out of your room? Besides school is starting in a week!" Sophie, my 13-year-old little sister exasperated. Ughh. Easy for her to say.
"Soph, I'm really trying, but it's hard." I sighed, "We were dating for more than a year."
"Come on, let's do something fun! How about we go shopping for new outfits! We should even bring Emma with us!" She squealed excitedly. Sophie had always been a very energetic kid and even though Jake and I were much older than her, she still loved us so much and treated us like her best friends. I sometimes wonder if she even has other friends. Emma was my best friend since we were 11 years old, entering our first year of middle school. We have been through so much together in the past years; crying, laughing, and everything. I don't know what I'd ever do without her.
"Ughhh I'm not in the mood," I groan, "Besides, I don't need any new clothes." At that moment, Jake, my eldest brother walked in my room.
"What's going on in here, eh?" Jake had always been one of the popular kids in school. He was a year older than me, so next year he would be off to college, which I hated. He took care of me my whole life, and was always by my side. You must think I have a great family. I did. But, not anymore, my siblings are the only ones that spend time with me now. My da-
"Lea? You okay?" Sophie's hand waved around my face with concern. I nodded my head slowly, forgetting what was happening earlier, I seemed to be doing that a lot these past months. "Anyways me and Lea want to go shopping for new clothes, can you please drive us there?"
Jake groaned, "If this will get Lea to leave her bed, then yes. We should go soon, me and the boys are meeting up later today."
"Alright! Let's go!" Sophie nodded excitedly.
—Time Skip to Inside the Car—
"By the way, I stole your phone to text Emma to come to the mall in 30 minutes." Sophie exclaimed.
"Why would you do that! I told you I don't like you sneaking up on me like that!" I hissed. This girl. "How'd you even get my password?"
"Well, if you don't want that to happen again, you should really change your password. Seriously who still puts 123456 as their password? I mean, c'mon, It's the 21st century!" I heard Jake chuckle beside me. I roll my eyes. Even though I love Sophie very much, she still is the sassiest person I know, oh, and don't forget, she's also the most annoying.
The rest of the car ride was silent except for Sophie breaking out with the music at random times and Jake tapping his hands on the wheel.
—Time Skip to End of Car Ride—
"We're here!!" Sophie practically yelled. I rolled my eyes, hoping this wouldn't be one of the 5 hour shopping sprees. I took a deep breath and lifted a leg out of the car when Jake nudged my shoulder.
"You should really learn how to drive. After all, I won't be able to help you drive anymore next year, because I'm going to co-"
"Will you please stop reminding me of that? And no, I suck at driving, and you know it too, I'll probably just take the bus everywhere I go." Now it was his turn to roll his eyes.
"Well consider it, for me at least. And have fun shopping till you die!" He exclaimed the last part too happy for my liking. I jumped out of the car before I could hear the rest of his babbling nonsense.

"So, we're gonna buy you a whole new wardrobe. We need to give you a new image at school, instead of some antisocial emo." I was about to cut her off when I heard a very familiar high pitched squeal.
"LEA! I MISSED YOU SO MUCH! How are you? Have you felt any better?" Her eyes were full of excitement and concern. I nodded my head, not having enough courage talking about it.
"I missed you too, Em. You have no idea. Did you have fun in Switzerland?" Emma went to Europe this whole summer, for both family and learning about cultures. She stayed for the whole summer alone with her grandparents, which had probably taught her a lot of things.
"OMG YES!! I also met this really cute guy and we went on a couple of dates. But since I had to come back, we just exchanged contact info and stuff." She grinned.
"WHAT!? And you didn't tell us any of this during our daily calls?" Sophie shrieked before I could interject.
"Oops... I guess I forgot?" She looked a bit guilty.
"We should start shopping now guys, or else we're gonna be here until all the shops close." I said, before this could get any more awkward. They each nodded their heads and led me to the nearest shop, Brandy Melville. There were clothes everywhere. I mean everywhere.

Sophie and Emma were both frantically looking through the racks to find some outfits for me. I decided I didn't want to look with them so I wandered off looking for the nearest food shop. I sat back down on a bench after about 10 minutes eating some Auntie Anne's cinnamon rolls.
As I was sipping my lemonade, a group of four or five tall boys were walking from a distance. I bent forward getting a better view of who they were. I didn't recognize them, which was weird, since they looked like my age. Or maybe I just don't pay attention.
