Chapter 11: A Twist of Events
Lea P.O.V.
The things that happened this afternoon still replay in my mind every few minutes. Could he really, actually like me? I mean I thought about that before but now things have just gotten more serious. He likes me as in for real, as in he finds me bearable, as in he has a crush on me, as in he's somehow attracted to me... What do I do? I just don't know my feelings towards him. Yes, he is incredibly beautiful, but he's also got an attitude. But he's still really cute. But, he's also annoying-
"Ms. Walker, which part of the paragraph did you highlight?" The stupid English teacher interrupted my thoughts.
"Um, yeah, so basically, yeah, I highlighted," I take a second to take a deep breath and I clear my throat, "Right, so I highlighted the section where she tells him a secret that nobody knew about her, hoping it'd make him gain her trust, but instead it only made things worse."
"Okay, good. Next time, try and answer a bit quicker, and not lose your train of thought. In other words, focus." I nod my head.
Arghhh, someone help me...

Finally, school has ended. I'm outside on a table chilling with Emma and Sandra. They're both on their phones right now, so I pull mine out and send a quick text to Jake telling him I'll be going home with Emma, instead of driving with him. I set my phone down and I figure that it might be a good time to confess my thoughts.
"Hey guys?"
"What's up?" Emma asks. Sandra sets her phone down and looks up at me.
"Do you guys just want to confess to each other how we're really doing? I'm just in a confusing place right now, and I have a lot to say about a lot of things. So I was thinking maybe you guys do too."
"That's a really good idea." Sandra comments. Emma nods in agreement.
"So how about you go first Lea! You're the one who came up with the idea."
"Okay, okay fine. This is going to be a bit long. So, if you haven't noticed, well maybe you haven't, Brett and I have sorta gotten closer over the past few weeks. Like we talk and text almost daily. Almost. Anyways, he came to my house once. At that time, I really thought he had some sorta crush on me. He showed slight signs, and it just sorta felt like he did. Like you get that sort of vibe. He also opened up to me about his personal life, which I'm not too sure if I'm even supposed to tell you guys. Moving on, earlier today during my break, when you all had class, he confessed that he had a crush on me. He did. I mean I don't know if I like him back but I do sort of feel slightly attracted to him. He does a few things that I enjoy, he uses emojis, and he also has a different side. I don't think I've fully reached that side yet, but he's definitely got a warm and I guess I could say vulnerable side." I take a short break to breathe from my large rant and I watch their facial expressions for the ends for seconds. Emma is concerned, but also looks pretty excited. Sandra looks overall just surprised. "So that's basically everything that happened. I don't know what to do. We aren't that close, so I don't want to overdo things, but also he just confessed to me. I really don't know how I feel about him. What do you think I should do?"
"Well, I would suggest, just shoot your shot? Ask him to be your boyfriend? We really only have so much time in our youth. It's not common for a bad boy to actually have a crush on you so why not take the chance. I'm sure there will be a ton you will learn from him." Emma smiles. Oh Em, what would I do without you? I smile back.
"I would have to agree with Em. She's right, it's not every day a super-duper popular kid actually confesses to you. Instead of just playing it cool, just ask him out!" That was pretty encouraging too.
