Chapter 10: A Few Confessions
Brett P.O.V.
I head home feeling a little lost. Surely I could make up with Megan later right? As I'm heading up the stairs I hear my parents shouting. Ugh, not again.... I get inside my room and think. Oh yea we have school again tomorrow. A new day of hanging out with Lea, and a new day closer to my goal... Yay. But before any of that happens, I have a plan.
Me: come to my house tmrw morning 6:00
Leana 💞: what??? No way, that's so early :(
Me: just trust me. be at my house then
Leana 💞: i dont even know where you live :/
Me: just ask ur brother or something
Leana 💞: fine, but why??
I smirk as I read her text, and quickly type a reply.
Me: you'll see 😉
Well, tomorrow's going to be fun...

Lea P.O.V.
What could be so important that he texted me at 1 in the morning? I look at the clock. F**K! It's already 6:20!
I quickly get out of my bed, jump in the shower, and do my makeup. At this point, it's 6:45. I quickly head downstairs only to see Jake standing there. Oh shoot! I didn't even ask for his address!
"What are you doing?" He raises a questionable eyebrow.
"I -uh -uh, I need to get a ride earlier for today s-since I have a school project due???" That totally didn't sound like a question. Totally.
"Well you can join me for today's right, but we first have to stop by my friend's house to pick them up which is like 15 minutes away."
"Oh, um, okay then." I nod my head slowly. You know what? Frick off, player. I don't need to hear whatever crap you're gonna say. I follow Jake into the car, concluding that whatever Brett wanted wasn't important. I head into the passenger seat of the car, letting whoever his friend is to sit in the back.
We've been driving for a little while now and as the car pulls up to the house, a familiar smirk is the first thing I see when my eyes focus on the figure. S**t, I'm in trouble. What the heck is he doing here? He walks towards the car with a full grin, but his hair all ruffled and messy and the dark bags under his eyes shows that he's crap inside and out.
"Hey! How's my guy doing?" My brother exclaims as Brett shuts the side of the car.
"Good, you?" We can both tell he's distracted on his phone. I can feel my grandma shaking her head saying tHEse GeN ZeRs... Honestly, I'm kinda curious to see what would make him so invested in his phone. Then, I feel mine vibrate. I desperately want to see what he sent but I probably can't until Jake drops us all off, or he'll get kind of suspicious. Wait not kind of, very.

So, they run out the door leaving me alone in the parking lot. I pull out my phone to read the text. You'll pay for that. ;) I ignore the message, smiling towards myself. Why am I smiling? Just because he used an emoji??? Which I've never met any guy who has. Well... Jason did— Eww! What am I thinking? I shake out of my thoughts and walk into the building.
I'm walking towards the building only to see Rider and Sandra talking with each other in the hallway. I'm walking closer towards them and I see Sandra holding the picture of them when they were younger, the one I hung on her locker. It was clear there's some sort of attraction between them; rosy cheeks, their "never-fading" smile, and just the general flirty position. So they recognize each other!! This is so cute. The ship has left the dock. Awww.
