Chapter 23: Traveling Thoughts

Today was the day class 1A was going to leave for our vacation trip. Getting to our destination would take about a day and a half so we’d be staying on the bus and taking small breaks and quick stops for lunch and dinner so we had to make sure we brought something to do and make sure we brought some blankets since some areas we’re traveling to are much colder since winter is coming.

 I got up early along with Bakugo to pack the rest of the stuff that we needed for our two week trip. Everyone was booming with excitement but me, well I still wasn’t really up for this trip. I sighed as we all began boarding the bus.

I didn’t really want to socialize today so I sat in the back next to the window putting in my earbuds and began playing music on my phone while the rest of the students boarded the bus. I rested my head against the window and closed my eyes letting the sounds of the piano relax me. I opened my eyes, getting startled by someone's arm wrapping around me. I pulled out my earbud and looked to see who was next to me.

“S-s-orry I didn’t mean to scare you,” Bakugo apologized, I simply nodded and began putting my earbuds back in until Bakugo said something again. “Hey, you're unusually quiet today, is everything alright?” he gave a concerned look, I nodded again still not wanting to talk but it only made Bakugo worry more. He squeezed my hand slightly and looked away worried. I sighed, so much for trying to avoid a conversation.

“I’m not used to going on far away trips away from home. It kinda scares me.” I began looking back out the window as soon as the bus began moving, “I’m worried the League of Villains may attack again, they might try to use me to hurt you guys again. It...it really scares me.” I admitted as I ran my fingers through my (h/c) hair. I turned and Bakugo’s crimson eyes met with my (e/c) eyes.

Bakugo put his arm around me and held me close and held my hand in his. “Don’t worry about that alright, you have me, that's why I am here right now. I won’t let anything happen to you, not on my watch. If anyone lays a finger or even a scratch on you I’ll blow them to pieces.” Bakugo reassured me as he held me protectively and he kissed my cheek. “You don’t have to worry about that, not when I’m around to protect you, you can count on me. I'll do anything to make sure you're happy and safe.” 

“Thanks Katsuki, that makes me feel a lot better,” I leaned my head against his chest and closed my eyes listening to my music and fell asleep.

After a few hours of being on this we made a stop to get lunch and use the restroom, we all sat together in a cafe everyone having their own conversations with each other eating and exploring the new area. “Y/n wanna come with us?” Midoriya came over to me with a worried look, I shook my head quietly, I felt Bakugo squeeze my hand slightly.

“Y/n’s kinda down Deku, it’s fine she’ll be with me.” Bakugo placed his hand on my shoulder, Midoriya nodded still having a worried look on his face but he went off with the rest of the class. I leaned my head on Bakugo’s shoulder as he rubbed my back trying to comfort me.

“Hey I know your scared but you’ve got me to protect you,” he kissed my forehead, “Come on let’s go explore since we’ve got about a couple hours until we get back on the bus again,” He stood up and took me by the hand and we left the cafe, Aizawa was right it’s colder here, I’m glad we both were wearing a jacket. We walked around exploring stores hand in hand and it felt relaxing just being with him right now. As we passed by one of the stores something caught my eye. I stopped and let go of Bakugo’s hand, “Y/n is everything alright?” he turned back to me as I walked into the store.

What caught my eye as I entered the store was a crimson red scarf, it matched Katsuki’s eyes, I blushed at the thought. I couldn’t help but purchase it, I happily walked out of the store with a smile on my face. “Oi found something?” he asked, I nodded happily and took out the crimson scarf and wrapped it around his neck.
