Chapter 12: Challenge Accepted

The second day of internships wasn’t a real blast, today Endeavor was going to have me and Todoroki have a mock battle in the arena on the roof. I began putting on my hero costume and noticed more shedding on my arm, shit bad timing period,  just end before the rest of the week goes by. I peeled off my shedding skin and put it in the trash hopin no fire’s would break out. My damn snake skin is poisonous when heated, I mean it doesn’t kill anyone, just by breathing in the gas fume would paralyse you in the matter of seconds. I sighed hoping that would accidentally happen to someone by mistake, I put the rest of my hero costume on and headed out.

Todoroki and I went to the top floor to where Endeavor was  waiting for us. “ Shoto, Gaara today’s training would be like a battle at the sports festival, but if either one of you gets hit or out of bounds the opponent is the winner, do I make myself clear?” 

“Yes sir,” Todorki and I replied in unison and stood in place ready for Endeavor’s orders.

Todoroki’s point of view

“Begin!” Endeavor ordered and it wasn’t long before I noticed Y/n creating sand beneath her feet, I began my attack with ice from my right side, she didn’t bother blocking or dodging. She just stood there and let my ice impale her. I felt my heart stop for one second as fear took over me, my father didn’t say anything, was the match still going?

I looked over a Y/n and noticed her body turned into complete sand and crumbled.

A clone? But when did she make one? Then I remembered her making sand beneath her, I knew where she was and before I could turn around and face her I got a kick to the face and hit the ground.

“Gaara wins,” my father declared, I felt my father's glare on me and it irritated me. A hand was held out to me and I looked up to see it was Y/n, I took her hand and was helped to stand up, “I’m sorry about the kick, I think I went a bit too far.” she apologized as she rubbed the back of her neck. “No it’s alright, I wasn’t quick to react, I thought I hurt you.” She patted my shoulder and gave me a smile.

“I’m gonna tell you what I told Midoriya when I did this to him,” She poked my forehead and smiled, “Speed up, don’t let an opponent  with a very high defense quirk get behind you. Speed and quick reaction time helps in real life situations.” I looked down slightly as I thought about it, with a quirk like Y/n’s she could attack and defend herself really easily, her attacks are mainly physical and she can attack from both long and short distances. And her fighting technique in close combat is amazing; her movements are almost like those of a snake.

Her father must’ve trained her to death for her to get this good at using her quirk. She’s like a human weapon. Endeavor walked up to Y/n giving her a serious stare, Y/n looked back at him not breaking any eye contact. “Gaara, I’m going to challenge you,” Both Y/n’s and my eyes widen, my father challenges her to a mock battle.

A pro hero against an intern, was this even allowed? I looked to Y/n to see the most determined expression on her face, she wants to earn my father's respect. 

“If I win, you will have no choice but to accept my request for a  quirk marriage between you and my son,” he declared, I was enraged by this, and by the look on Y/n’s face she was feeling the same. “If I win you can forget about that marriage and respect your son's choices and decisions,” she accepted the challenge without breaking the enraged eye contact. She was doing all of this just so I could get respect from my old man. Y/n you can’t do this, he’s a pro hero.

“We’ll use the sports festival rules, first one out of bounds or falls and admit defeat loses, shot will view our battle as a witness.” Endeavor ordered and they took their places within the boundaries.
