Can you believe how long it's been
Since we last danced in the rain?
I remember how we splashed
As we tore up and down the lane.
Can you recall the last time
We talked on into the night?
Yes, we laughed. Yes, we cried
But, oh! It felt so right.
Can you remember how we felt back then
When our only wounds were from falls?
When we only worried about our spellings
And whether or not we'd grow tall.
Can you tell me, honestly
If you've ever wished nothing had changed?
Why couldn't we stay frozen in time
Laughing, dancing in the rain?
