Afraid...

I've never been afraid of falling;

just that I wouldn't land on my feet.

Never been afraid of reaching the end,

but that the journey I made would be incomplete.

I've never been afraid of bruises

other than the ones I cannot heal.

Never been afraid of nightmares;

but of waking up and finding they're real.

I've never been afraid of walking that road;

just that I'd be abandoned along the way.

Never been afraid of being with the people I love;

but that they'd be gone with the light of day.

I've never been afraid of losing

Except for the games that are meant to be won.

Never been afraid of being apart from the crowd,

but afraid of being the only one.

I've never been afraid of the dark;

Just that I'd never find the light ahead.

Never been afraid of doing things,

but of doing something I'd regret.

I've never been afraid of surviving;

doing it alone is what I can't face.

Never been afraid of giving all that I've got,

but learning that it was all a waste.

I've never been afraid of trusting

but I'm afraid of being betrayed.

Never been afraid of facing danger, 

But scared that I'll never be brave.

I've never been afraid of scars,

except for the ones that can't be erased.

Never been afraid of losing anything,

except for the people I can never replace.

I've never been afraid to laugh,

Just that it would be fake.

Never been afraid of making you smile,

it's hurting you that I can't take.

I've never been afraid of falling in love,

it's losing that love that I fear.

Never been afraid of saying "I love you"

but that it would be something that I'd never hear.

I've never been afraid of being alone,

just that it would always be that way.

Never been afraid of a little bit of silence,

but that it'd be a permanent change.

I've never been afraid to be all I can be

It's something I learned on my own.

I'd do anything to fight against my fears,

And I'd give the world to not have to do it alone.
