Three brothers, united,
All tried to fit in.
They did everything they could,
But still could not win
A place among their peers;
Couldn't be like their friends.
They tried and tried
But they could not win.One brother was loud,
Tall and strong.
And he believed he should have it all.
So he towered over his brothers
And let his greed for power
Consume him.
And he made sure that no one else
Could rule him.All the second brother wanted
Was to be "loved"
So he let everyone around him
Use him like a rug.
He followed, obeyed
Was used and played.
And in his bargain for acceptance
His pride was the price he payed. The youngest brother did not change.
While his brother's transformed
Into different people,
He stayed the same.
He was content
With standing alone.
As long as it meant
He did not change his soul. And that was how
The two older brothers achieved
Their one goal,
Their biggest dream.
In changing who they were
For acceptance and power
They lost who they were
And became part of the crowd. But it was that last brother
Who was truly blessed.
Because he remained true to himself
When put through the test.
He did not change to be loved by the world
Nor did he fall for power or greed.
Thus he became, the best of the three.
