I looked out the window of the train as it barreled past the last line of trees. As the green dissolved into the background and the buildings replaced them as the only distraction from reality. I almost forgot what that reality is if only when I turned my head, they weren't there staring at me.
The man and women in front of me were making sure that I couldn't plan anything as they made me feel so uncomfortable that they were the only things on my mind.
Once or twice the staff on the train would walk past and look at me in order to check if I wasn't in trouble and needing help. I wished that I could have said something to them, but if I had they would have been in danger and almost certainly would have died. Knowing this I forced a smile onto my face even though it hurt to even pretend to be happy.
The train came to a stop sooner than I thought It would have, giving me hope that if I could slip away somehow that I could make it back home with less chance of getting caught. this short lived hope evaporated almost immediately as I saw two black SUVs waiting for us to take us some where else. I could tell that they had driven in mud and dirt from the messy state of the tires and the bottom half of the vehicles. I figured this meant that there was quite a bit more traveling to do as we were in quite an urban area.
I looked around just to try to see if I could recognise any of my surroundings, however it was all unfamiliar and the only sign that I could see was for a convenience store which could come in handy however I doubt it. I still memorized the name Jaspers Convenience right before I was all but forced into the car.
As we drove in silence I thought I should at least figure out who the people kidnapping me.
"So, what are your names?" I asked.
The man, who was in the front passenger seat, turned his head to face me seemingly deciding whether he should answer me. He eventually sighed and replied, "I'm Joe, she's Lea."
The lady, who I had just learnt was Lea, looked at him as if he was stupid, which he might have been. I don't think it is customary for a kidnapper to tell their victim their names although I wouldn't call this a normal kidnapping either.
Joe shrugged at Lea, who shook her head with a small smirk.
I almost laughed before I realised that it was not the right time.
I returned to staring out the window, watching the environment change back to a more rugged and untamed terrain. Our journey continued for another hour or so until we came upon what seemed like a haunted castle straight out of a horror film. The walls were painted a gloomy grey colour which seemed patchy as if the building had repairs done by someone who was definitely not qualified. The sky above had become dark after the long journey, the moon peaked out from behind the clouds as if it was cowering and hiding in fear.
"Welcome to your new home, get ready to meet your real father."
