'Madeline! You have to try this dress on!' my mother screamed from the other side of the house.

'why?!' I screamed back.

'Don't scream across the house.' That was my mothers logic.

I walk to her and ask 'why?'

'Just do it' she replies.

'OK but he needs to leave' I said pointing a finger at Jeremy.

He and my mother laughed 'I mean it!' I said trying to look offended.

Jeremy came over and kissed me on the cheek, before leaving, which made me blush. Hopefully my mother didn't notice.

'You really like him don't you? She asked.

Well shit....

'Yeah? Why do you ask?' I added not really wanting to know.

'No reason' she continued starting to cry 'my little baby girl is growing up, soon you'll be getting married and having your own children and then becoming queen....' she said all this and more with a constant flow of tears falling down her cheeks.

'Mommy' I never called her mommy, I only said this to sound younger. 'It's okay I'm still young on't worry about, any ways I need your opinion on this dress!' instantly her face was happy again, my mothers only weakness besides me was clothes. She loved them.

I tried on the dress and I immediately fell in love with the dress. It had a tight waist with a red ribbon on it which turned into a bow on the side of my waist, the top was in the shape of a heart and had crystals climbing up ant the sleeves were like triangles sitting gracefully on my shoulders and the bottom of the dress smoothed into a silk skirt which came down to about mid-thigh.

I came running out to show my mom the dress and there was Rachel and Greg were sitting on the couch. Rachel was my best friend, her family and mine were very close. Greg, being her brother, was always there at gatherings was greatly to my displeasure. We hated each other with a passion.

But there was something different about the way he was looking at me. His eyes were protruding from his sockets about to pop out. It felt weird.

'OH MY GOD, Madeline I can't believe it? You are officially a vampire!' she exclaimed.

Wait. Your vampires too?" I asked surprised.

"Yes! We are also pure bloods! Greg was awakened last year and I was earlier this year!" she said without stopping to breathe.

"Well con-grads on the whole vampire princess, big foot!" He said and walked out of the room.

"What's the pigs problem?" I asked everyone.

"Well, it's not unusual for vampires to be arranged to be married by parents to keep the blood line pure...." Rachel answered hoping I would catch on.

I didn't.

"Huh?" I said confused "What does this have to do with me?"

"Well, you and him... Well.... Err were supposed to um... Be married to each other..." she said with a nervous laugh.

"What!" I exclaimed surprised.

"Yeah and he still has a grudge over your family breaking it when you were little and saw a show on arranged marriages and said you would never marry someone like that" she answered.

"Yeah well don't tell Jeremy," I said "He's very protective."

"Am I missing something?" Rachel asked.

"Well Madeline is now dating and guess who!" my mother said.

"Oh I don't know, Jeremy!" she said sarcastically obviously hearing me mention his name. "Wait is this Jeremy as in Jebidiah's right hand man Jeremy?"

I nodded.

"Oh he's cute!" she commented.

"Yeah and on a completely different topic, what is this dress for?" I looked at my mother.

"Well the ball of cause!" mom replies.
