The Doppelganger

It was late at night and Elena was deep in thought, knees to her chest on her bed. She had earlier met up with the rest of the group at the grill. It was comforting to have such a feeling of familiarity at the sight of her childhood friends. But she couldn't help but still worry, a concerned look adorning her face as she let hundreds of different possible scenarios flow through her head.

They could be looking for her right now. For all she knew, they had already found her, and were just waiting for the opportunity to strike and take her away from her home once again. It was these stray wonders that crowded her mind with anxiety and prevented her from getting a blink of sleep. She grabbed her phone from her side table to keep her distracted from her internal fears and pushed them to the back of her mind.

As she scrolled through instagram, a notification banner popped up at the top of her screen and she clicked on it, noticing it was a message from an unknown number. She just deleted the conversation without looking at the text and tossed her phone to the side, figuring it was one of the brothers, seeing as she had blocked them all earlier on in the day. It would make sense for them to try to contact her from another phone. But then she heard a ding sound from her phone once more and unlocked her phone to see it was the same number trying to contact her.

This time she opened the chat, seeing a message saying, "Look out of your window." Not creepy at all. She didn't want to, assuming one or more of her supposed 'lovers' to be standing out on the lawn with either furious or longing gazes being directed towards her. But something in herself knew that they wouldn't have approached the situation with such caution. I mean, the Mikaelsons aren't exactly known for their subtlety.

Elena hesitantly approached her window, becoming more anxious with each careful step she took. Once she had finally reached the window sill seating area where she used to journal, she peered through the glass down to the ground to see a shadow. But it wasn't a masculine figure. It looked to be the silhouette of a woman. Elena unlatched the windows seal lock and slid the window open.

"Hello?!" She explained, frankly not having the patience for this freaky-ass bullshit when she has 3 murderous, bloodlusted ex-boyfriends practically hunting for her as of that moment.
Within the blink of an eye, the figure ran from the yard, to directly in front of her.

"Hey gorgeous, funny seeing you here."
Katherine
"You're at my damn house. Why, i'm not sure. But you can sure as hell leave, i'm not being used for another one of your attempts at self-preservation again." Elena glared. Anytime her doppelganger would come to her, it was always a favor or threat through blackmail mainly targeted for only her own needs for pleasure and survival.

"Oh, don't be like that babe," she slid one hand to my waist, using her thumb and forefinger to draw my face closer to hers. But Elena wasn't having any of it.

"LIke what?! LIke you used me and threw me away like I was trash as soon as you got what you truly wanted? LIke I have given you limitless opportunities to be honest about your feelings about me, and yet you just push me away like I am just an obstacle in your path? Because if so, then that is exactly the way I should be right now. You don't care about me! You never did...."

Her lips quivered as she poured her heart out the girl in front of her, finally fully realizing the pent up frustration she had for the lookalike.

They've got history.
