the day after his successful date, harry felt like he was dreaming. he was in a state of pure euphoria and the footballer was positive that nothing could ruin his mood, not even dele being annoying.

tottenham's number eight made his way out onto the training pitches with a spring in his step. it confused dele because he had never seen his friend be so happy after a date. usually harry always came away, complaining about how the girl was a gold digger or how she forced him to phone her dad and talk about football for the duration of the date.

"it went well then?" dele asked his friend as he picked up a ball and stood a few metres apart from harry. they had decided to pair up for the few drills that they did to warm up before the coaches emerged from the complex building.

"like you wouldn't believe, del." the brunette boy sighed in pure happiness and it made dele want to throw up. he had never seen his friend like this and they had known each other for years. it was sickening how in love harry seemed to be when he had only known allie for around two months.

"what did you do?" dele regretted asking the question as soon as it left his mouth. did he really want to know what happened on the date? no but at the same time, he needed to know why harry was acting the way that he was.

"i tried to teach her how to play football. she's absolutely terrible but we still had fun." harry described part of the date as he kicked the ball back to his taller friend. dele scrunched his eyebrows together in confusion. most girls would have hated that as a first date. he hated to say it but either allie was 'different' from most girls that he knew or the date hadn't gone nearly as well as harry seemed to think.

"then we watched the sunset on the bonnet of my car. we kissed , you know?" at this, the taller of the two boys scuffed the ball with his foot and kicked his toes into the ground. dele yelped out in pain which finally pulled harry out of his daze.

"you alright?" the london boy called out and dele simply nodded, walking the pain off as he noticed that the coaches had finally made their way out to start training the squad since they had a very important london derby against arsenal the coming weekend.

"nice one, mate. you might be on to a keeper this time." dele winked at his friend before running to catch up with the other boys who were jogging around the large pitches to warm up their muscles before an intense session.

after a difficult morning training session with various different drills and conditioning exercises, harry was finally ready to go home and have his ice bath. he was going to text allie when he got home and ask her if she wanted to watch a movie with him. the brunette boy hadn't had much dating experience, monique being one of only three serious girlfriends so he hoped that he wouldn't be coming across as desperate.

harry pulled his phone out of his boot bag that he kept in the training changing rooms and noticed that he had several missed calls and unread texts from monique. it was unlike her to bombard him with messages unless it was something important and that's when harry's good mood was dampened. he was worried. if something had happened to monique or allie and he wasn't there for them, he would never forgive himself.

harry and monique had a long history. they met almost four years ago when monique moved to london to start university. the pair met at a night club. harry was with dele, eric, sonny and a few of the other lads to celebrate a team members birthday. monique had spilt her drink down herself and had stumbled her way over to the bar. harry noticed how drunk she was and offered to help her get home to which she agreed. he ordered a taxi for them both since he had been drinking and gave her his number in case she needed anything in the morning. obviously the two went on to date but they split up years ago and were now great friends.

"harry!" dele pulled his friend out of his trance as they were walking out of the changing rooms together. it was clear to the taller boy that his friend was not himself. it was strange how quickly his mood had changed and dele wondered what was on harry's mind.

"you alright?" just as harry was about to answer dele's question, he noticed a blonde girl standing next to his car in the training ground car park.

"allie." the shorter footballer whispered to himself and started to jog over to her. as harry got closer to the girl, he could see the tears that stained her cheeks and her bloodshot eyes.

"what's going on? i don't like what's going on here." harry approached the girl that he fancied and before he could react, she had thrown herself into his arms and started to sob some more.

"it's okay, i've got you." harry wrapped his arms around her small body tightly and kissed the top of her head. he didn't know what was wrong with her but he didn't dare ask at the moment. he was sure that when she was ready, she would tell him. all that he could do was be there for allie because she needed him more than ever right now.

a/n: harry is the sweetest guy ever and i wouldn't mind if he married me right now.

this chapter is exploring harry's point of view and the next chapter will be allie's side of things.

i'm in such a good mood today because hibs won yesterday and we're staying top of the league until at least tuesday (it won't last long) and i've found my inspiration for one of my future projects again! i'm excited about this one.

when you look at footballers, who do you think has the most potential to impress the parents if you brought them home?
- harry winks for sure. he's got that whole sweet and innocent act going on.

enjoy and stay safe!

lots of love, e x
