Y/N and Frosino lay hand-in-hand on the hilltop that overlooked the village far below them. The days had flown by, and before they knew it, it was the eve before their wedding.

Knowing that they would not have much time to see each other the following day until the ceremony, Frosino suggested that they return to their special place one last time before they became husband and wife.

The tranquility and peace they felt to be laying there together, beneath the branches of the flowering tree that was now bearing succulent apples, was second to none. The low coo of a dove from somewhere nearby added to the picturesque moment.

"Hard to believe that at this time tomorrow we will be married," Frosino said quietly, nervous every time he said it that Y/N would tell him that she changed her mind and that she no longer loved him.

"I know, I can hardly wait," Y/N said, placing a tender kiss on Frosino's cheek.

Even though she had kissed him in such a way countless times, Frosino would grow short of breath at the feeling of Y/N's soft lips against his cheek. His heart would beat painfully fast every time she would re-affirm her love for him.

He coughed awkwardly, hoping that Y/N wouldn't tease him for his blushing cheeks as he said, "Yes, I can hardly wait as well, but I think we should return to the castle and rest for the night, we have a big day tomorrow after all."

"I suppose you are right," Y/N said with a small pout. "I wish that this moment would last forever though."

"I know," Frosino agreed, taking Y/N by the hand and helping her to her feet. "But even better things lay waiting tomorrow, and if time would stop it this moment, I would never be able to marry you."

The pair walked together back through the wooded trail to Castle de Crivell. The pair continued arm-in-arm until they reached Y/N's room. Frosino bid her goodnight and then continued on into his own bed chambers.

Unbeknownst to the lovers, the drawbridge had been let down for their late-night stroll, and that had allowed two unwelcome people to creep into the castle grounds. Tola and Paety stood in a particularly shadowed part of the courtyard until they were sure all the residents of Castle de Crivell were sure to be asleep.

Tola turned her attention to the exotic man standing next to her and said, "Ay know the castle, so ay will be goin' in tonight. Ay'll find a way to get the bride alone in the temple over there tomorrow, that is when ya will strike. What a surprise it will be far the Archduke when he finds the body of his bride on the altar."

Before Paety could say anything about his thoughts on the plan, Tola had already turned and walked away from him, and entered a door at the base of a small flight of stairs set into the ground.

The housekeeper navigated the halls of the castle with surprising stealth given her robust size. She reached Y/N's bedroom with ease and pushed the door open.

Tola slipped inside the bedroom and stared at the sleeping figure of Y/N. There had been a time when Tola had cared for the child, but then the girl became a threat to everything.

It had been Tola's plan to set something up to scare Y/N into running into the Temple by herself, but as she gazed upon the girl who had stolen Frosino's love away from her, Tola felt bloodlust welling in her heart.

She drew out the knife that she always kept on her hip and approached the bed. It was all Y/N's fault. If Y/N never came to Castle de Crivell, Frosino would have eventually noticed the way that Tola felt about him, and he would have returned her feelings.

But Y/N had destroyed that plan. No matter, Tola thought as she raised the knife to strike Y/N as she slept. If I kill her now, it will be like she never came here in the first place, and then Frosino will love me.
